Humberto Brenes Doubled Through, Then Eliminated
Humberto Brenes lost most of his stack after George Womble raised to 6,600 from under the gun and Brenes reraised to 16,600 from early position. Kelvin Beattie reraised all in for a total of 36,500 and Womble folded, Brenes called.
Beattie: Q Q
Brenes: A K
Board: A 10 9 J 8
Beattie got it in with the best hand while Brenes flopped the best hand with top pair, top kicker. Beattie went runner-runner straight to the queen, trumping Brenes' pair of aces and doubling through him to about 80,000. After this hand, Brenes was down to just over 20,000 in chips and was subsequently eliminated just a few hands later.
Kyle Bowker Doubles Through Stephen O'Dwyer
On a board of 9 7 2 5 , Stephen O'Dwyer bet 9,200 and Kyle Bowker smooth called. The river was the 9 , and this time O'Dwyer bet 30,000 (enough to put Bowker all in), Bowker called and turned over a pocket pair of deuces for a set while O'Dwyer mucked his hand. Bowker's all in call was for 22,700, and after this hand he had doubled up to just over 60,000 while O'Dwyer fell to just under 50,000.
Scott Seiver Eliminates Eric King
Scott Seiver raised to 4,000 from early position and Eric King reraised all in from late position. Seiver called and both players turned over their hands.
King: A K
Seiver: 8 8
Board: 9 8 3 Q J
Scott Seiver flopped a set of eights, all but eliminating Eric King right there on the spot. King would need to go runner-runner and was drawing dead on the turn. Scott Seiver brings his chip count up to just under 50,000 while Eric King hit the rail early on in the first level of Day 2.

The Forrest is on Fire
Jun 19, '08
Blinds: 1,000-2,000
Players Left: 42 of 320
Chip Leaders:
Frank Vizza: 408,000
Daniel Makowsky: 397,500
Kyle Kloeckner: 343,500
Kevin O'Donnell: 300,000
Ted Forrest: 240,000
Thomas Wahlroos: 237,000
Jerrod Ankenman: 215,000
Layne Flack: 189,500
Steven Saris: 183,00
Nathan Doudney: 181,000
Average Stack: 119,286
Eliminations: Jared Hamby, Dan Adams, Mats Rahmn, Marc Goodwin
Big Hands:
Full House, Sir?
"Do you have a full house," whispered Jared Hamby to his opponent, Layne Flack. Hamby had just led out on the river on a board of K J 10 A A for 8,000, and Flack had raised him to 30,000, almost the rest of his remaining stack. Flack threw back his head and laughed. "That's a question I'd never thought I'd get asked right there," said Flack. Hamby finally elected to call, and Flack showed the bad news: A J for aces full. After the hand Flack was up to close to 190,000, while Hamby had just about 6,500. He was eliminated a short while later.
Battle of the Surnames
Kyle Bowker moved all in for his last 9,000 and was called by Kyle Kloeckner. It was pretty much a race, with Bowker holding A K Q 10 versus Koecker's 9 8 7 7 . The flop was bad for Bowker, as Kloeckner hit his set on a board of 8 7 2 , although it did give him outs to a flush. But the 8 had him drawing pretty well dead. Kloeckner, meanwhile, is second in the tournament in chips with about 345,000 in chips.
Adams Can't See the Forrest for the Trees
Ted Forrest raised to 5,000 preflop. The player in seat 1 called, as did Dan Adams. The flop came A 8 3 and all players checked. The turn was the 7 and Adams checked to Forrest. He proceeded to fire 15,000. Seat 1 made the call and Adams came over the top for his entire stack. Forrest made the quick call and seat 1 got out of the way. The hands were then turned up.
Forrest: A A J 3
Adams: K J 10 9
Forrest had top set while Adams had possibilities galore. He had an open ended straight draw to go with his gutshot straight flush draw. But the river was the 8 , breaking the lead of Adams' drawing pencil and putting Forrest on a boat with the eight's doing the paddling with the rest of Adams' chips as passengers.
Wahlroos Forces Out Fernandez
Jacobo Fernandez made it 5,000 to go preflop. Thomas Wahlroos made the call and the flop came 10 3 5 . Both players checked and the turn brought the 3 . Wahlroos took the initiative and fired 15,000 into the pot and Fernandez mucked. Wahlroos moved up to 237,000 in chips.

Players Left: 4
Chip Counts:
Jason Young: 5,000,000
Mike Schwartz: 2,400,000
Rory Monahan: 1,400,000
John Strzemp: 1,200,000
Eliminations:
Sergey Rybachenko Eliminated in 7th Place ($15,698)
Kyle Bowker Eliminated in 6th Place (23,888)
Matt Giannetti Eliminated in 5th Place ($40,268)
Big Hands:
Sergey Rybachenko Falls Off, Jason Young Claims Chip Lead
Sergey Rybachenko went from being the chip leader to the short stack, and then being eliminated in just one round of play. Here is how it happened…Sergey Rybachenko check-raised Jason Young on a flop of A 8 7 . Rybachenko checked to Young who bet 55,000, Rybachenko raised to 125,000 and Young called. The 3 hit the turn and Rybachenko bet 250,000, Young called. The river was the 8 and Rybachenko bet out almost 700,000. Young quickly called and Rybacheno threw his hand into the muck before Young even had a chance to turn over A Q for top pair. Young took a massive pot off of the former chip leader, now grabbing the chip lead for himself.
Sergey Rybachenko Eliminated in 7th Place ($15,698)
Kyle Bowker Eliminated in 6th place ($23,888)
Kyle Bowker came in for a 100,000 raise. John Strzemp called from the cutoff and Mike Schwartz called from the button. Sergey Rybachenko moved all in from the small blind for a little over 250,000. When it got back to Kyle Bowker, he too moved all in (637,000), and so did Mike Schwartz when it got to him. Strzemp folded and it was a three-way all in pot. Schwartz had them both covered.
Rybachenko: K K
Bowker: Q 9
Schwartz: A Q
Board: J 4 2 9 A
Rybachenko led with a pair of kings. The turn gave Bowker a small piece of the board, but the ace on the river gave Schwartz the check mark and Sergey Rybachenko was eliminated in 7th place ($15,698), followed by Kyle Bowker in 6th pace ($23,888). Although Rybachenko and Bowker were both eliminated on the same hand, Bowker gets the better finish based on the fact that going into the hand, Bowker had more chips.
Matt Giannetti Eliminated in 5th Place ($40,268)
After a series of consecutive pre-flop open-raises, Matt Giannetti raised for the last time when Mike Schwartz made the call. The flop came A K 9 , and Swchartz moved all in. Giannetti tanked for a minute and then called off the rest of his chips. Schwartz turned over Q 9 for bottom pair and the nut flush draw while Giannetti showed A 10 for top pair. The turn was the Q , putting Schwartz out in front with two pair. Giannetti picked up the inside straight draw along with other outs, but the river brought the 9 , giving Schwartz a full house. Giannetti was eliminated in 5th place, earning $40,268.

Kyle Bowker Doubles Through Matt Giannetti
Matt Giannetti came in for a raise on the button and Kyle Bowker shoved all in from the big blind. Giannetti called.

Giannetti: A 6
Board: Q 10 6 9 7
