Storming the KastleJan 23, '11 There was 1,200 in the pot and a board that read A K 9 6 sat on the table when Kastle bet 1,000 from the big blind. The button made the call and the river fell 7. Kastle fired out 1,500 and his opponent raised to 4,500 on the button. Kastle made the call and the button flipped over 10 8. Kastle mucked and his stack shrank to 22,000. Player Tags: Casey Kastle |

Quads Again!Jan 18, '09 For the third time today a player has picked up quads. This time it was Casey Kastle who held 5-3 on a 7-5-5-5-6 board. Castle won a 25,000 pot that he faced off against Jeff Madsen in to grow his stack to more than 30,000. These Australian dealers are on fire. Player Tags: Casey Kastle, Jeff Madsen Kastle Doubles UpJan 18, '09 Casey Kastle just won a classic coin-flip situation to double up to 22,000. He held A-K against pocket sevens when the money got all in preflop and he flopped a king to survive the hand. Player Tags: Casey Kastle |

King of the KastleOct 30, '08 With 20 minutes left of round two Casey Kastle faced a preflop raise of 3,500. He was nonchalantly reading his magazine and it looked for all the world like he didn't realise it was his turn to bet. When it was pointed out that the action was on him he equally coolly pushed his entire stack of around 50,000 into the middle perplexing opponent Pierre Husson. After about a minute Husson called the clock on himself and looked like he was going to fold but at the last second shrugged his shoulders and called flipping over A-9. Kastle elegantly flipped over 9-9 and the flop came Q 9 6 4 5 to double up. Husson was knocked back to around 38,000 and was flabbergasted to say the least. Luca Pagno only has about three big blinds left and finally found a hand to move with. There were no takers though and he exhaled loudly showing kings. He lives a little longer but needs a lifeline. Annette Obrestad made a great call on the river to a half pot-sized bet of 7,200 from William Fry. Fry insta-mucked and Obrestad showed Q-J for top pair. Some chip counts: Paul Testud -- 50,000 Andreas Krause -- 40,400 Johnny Lodden 109,000 George McKeever -- 12,300 Danny Ryan -- 67,800 Andreas Mattern -- 108,000 Player Tags: Casey Kastle, Luca Pagano, Annette Obrestad, Pierre Husson |

As a result, Klaser won nearly 80 percent of the hands without having to go to a showdown. Kastle was pushed down to just under 10 big blinds. Martin Klaser Wins Event No. 43 ($216,249) On a flop of J99 Casey Kastle put in his last 120,000 and Martin Klaser made the call. Klaser turned over an overpair of queens and all Kastle could muster was a pair of jacks. The Queen on the turn sealed the deal, and Klaser won his first WSOP bracelet. Casey Kastle finished in second place, earning $137,985. Player Tags: Casey Kastle, Martin Klaser $1,500 PLO 8/ob - Heads Up TimeJun 26, '08 Blinds: 15,000-30,000 Eliminations: Michael Fetter (3rd Place) Michael Fetter Eliminated in Third Place ($83,538) Michael Fetter was short stacked and all in against Martin Klaser. Fetter held AQ109 and Klaser turned over AQ27. The board came 77610Q and Klaser made trips to send Fetter home in third place.
Martin Klaser - 1,500,000 Player Tags: Casey Kastle, Michael Fetter, Martin Klaser $1,500 PLO 8/ob - Erik Seidel Eliminated, Extends (POY) LeadJun 26, '08 Blinds: 12,000-24,000 Seat 5: Michael Fetter - 280,000 Eliminations: Erik Seidel (4th Place) Michael Fetter Doubles Through Erik Seidel Michael Fetter got it all in with pocket aces on a flop of 8-4-2 against Erik Seidel's pair of fours and not much else. The Ace on the turn locked up the hand for Fetter, as Seidel didn't have a low draw. Fetter picked up a much needed double up.
Erik Seidel and Casey Kastle got it all in preflop. Seidel showed A1043 and Kastle turned over AKK5. The board ran out Q74KQ and Kastle made kings full to eliminate Seidel in fourth place.
If my subject math skills are correct, Erik Seidel picked up a whopping 480 points for his fourth place finish in today's event. He already held a 4,100 to 3,400 point lead over second place resident Michael Binger, bringing his new point total to 4,580. So what does this mean? It means it's going to take more than one big victory to overcome Seidel for (POY) honors. Player Tags: Casey Kastle, Erik Seidel, Michael Fetter, Michael Binger $1,500 PLO 8/ob - Dinner BreakJun 26, '08 Blinds: 10,000-20,000 Seat 5: Michael Fetter - 280,000 Eliminations: Jon Maren (5th Place) Michael Fetter Doubles Through Jon Maren Michael Fetter raised to 60,000 and Jon Maren made the call. The flop came 1055 and Maren bet 130,000. Fetter moved all in and Maren made the call showing A884. Fetter revealed KK42 and the turn and river came 3Q giving Fetter the double up with his kings up. The low failed to materialize and Maren took a hit to his stack.
On a flop of KQ8, Jon Maren moved all in and was called by Casey Kastle. Kastle turned over 6--6-5-2 and it was surprisingly in the lead of Maren's A-J-3-2. The turn was the 2, giving Maren the nut low draw along with his two overs and gutshot, but the river was the Q, meaning that Kastle's lowly pair of sixes was enough to send Maren to the rail in fifth place. NOTE: The players are now on a one-hour dinner break. Player Tags: Casey Kastle, Michael Fetter, Jon Maren $1,500 PLO 8/ob - Two More DownJun 26, '08 Blinds: 6,000-12,000
Chad Burum Doubles Through Joseph Haddad On a flop of K64, Chad Burum got it all in against Joseph Haddad. Burum held A347 for the second nut-low draw, a pair of fours and a back door nut-flush draw and Haddad showed A2910 for the nut-low draw and not much else. The not much else cost him when the turn brought the 2, counterfeiting his low, and the 5 on the gave Burum the wheel and a much needed double up.
After getting all of his dangerously low stack in preflop against two opponents, Haddad revealed his fours full of tens on the river to triple up. A few hands later, his hole cards made the nut low and nut straight against Larry Wright to double up yet again to about 160,000.
Larry Wright was all in for his last 17,000 against Casey Kastle. Kastle flopped the nut flush in spades, and Wright was unable to make a low by the river to survive. Wright was eliminated in eighth place.
Martin Klaser raised and Joseph Haddad moved all in over the top. Klaser reluctantly called showing A1035 and he was in relatively bad shape against Haddad's AA24. But the flop gave Klaser the wheel, and Haddad was unable to catch up or improve. Haddad was eliminated in seventh place.

Tom Chambers Eliminated in Ninth Place ($19,656) Tom Chambers raised the pot preflop and Casey Kastle made the call from the big blind. The flop came AKQ and both players checked. The turn was the 3 and Kastle bet the pot. Chambers raised all in and Kastle thought it over before deciding to call with 7742, the nut low draw and a small flush draw. Chambers was sleeping on his AAK9 set of aces and needed a big non-diamond card to double up. Unfortunately, the river was the 6 giving Kastle his flush and the nut low. Chambers was eliminated in ninth place.
Larry Wright got the last of his stack all in preflop against Michael Fetter. Wright showed AQJ5 and Fetter turned over AKK10. The board ran out J8636 and Wright made his queen high flush and low to double up. Player Tags: Casey Kastle, Larry Wright, Michael Fetter, Tom Chambers |

King of his KastleApr 13, '08 Two-time World Poker Tour finalist and American pro Casey Kastle is a little tired from his trip to Europe but remains relatively upbeat. "I've had to work hard to chip up," he said counting out his 30,000 in chips. "In the first four hours we didn't lose a player and no-one was up or down more than 5,000 in chips. That's how tight-conservative it was. "I had aces twice and didn't see a flop and i flopped a set three times and got no action." He's now looking forward to a full eight hours sleep.
Player Tags: Casey Kastle "Timex" Ticks AlongApr 13, '08 Mike "Timex" McDonald form Canada coolly collected around 10,000 chips from a French opponent when he raised preflop, got called, bet 1,300 on a flop of 732, got called, bet 2,500 on a 4 turn, got called and bet 6,000 on a 2 river and got called. He turned over jacks and his French opponent looked surprised as if he'd been expecting something completely different. The Frenchman's friend lookat at him with a hyper-exaggerated shrugh of the shoulders as if to say "What in the name of all the heavens were you doing?"
