Burr Doubles

It took a while for Melissa Burr to double up.
It started when Burr was deal AA and raised to 2,500 from early position. Both the cutoff and button called and Barry Woods moved all-in for 64,800 from the big blind.
Burr called all-in and the cutoff tanked, for a while. More than six minutes later the cutoff decided to fold. The button quickly folded and we had a showdown.
Woods turned over AQ and Burr showed AA. The board ran J3722 and Burr doubled to about 48,000 while Woods dropped to 40,000.

Omid Nikzad Doubles Through Melissa Burr

Omid Nikzad raised to 3,000 from early position and Barry Woods called from middle position. Melissa Burr three-bet to 11,100 from the cutoff and Nikzad immediately went all in. Woods folded and Burr asked for a count.
After pulling in the dead money, Burr was facing a 22,500 raise from Nikzad. Burr tossed in a call and the cards were tabled. She was in bad shape with her 77 against Nikzad’s QQ.
The board ran out J54AJ and Nikzad doubled up to 72,600.

Melissa Burr raised to 500 from early position and Barry Shulman called from the button. The big blind called as well and the flop came 85J.
Shulman bet 1,000 when action checked to him and the big blind called. Burr raised to 3,300, Shulman called and the big blind folded.
A 2 came on the turn and Burr bet 4,000. Shulman called and a K completed the board. Burr moved all-in for 18,500 and Shulman folded.
Burr is now up to about 34,600.

Shulman Bests Burr

On a flop of KJ7, Barry Shulman check-called a bet of 700 from Melissa Burr. The turn was the A and Shulman check-called again, this time 2,000. The river was the 9 and Shulman check-called for a third time after Burr fired a third shell of 4,100.
Burr tabled KQ and was bested by Shulman’s AJ, good for two pair. Shulman chipped up to 67,000 and Burr dropped to 27,100.

Danny Geyser moved all in under-the-gun for 96,000 and Josh Hale was next to act and three-bet to 205,000. Action folded around to Melissa Burr in the small blind, who moved all in for 135,000.
The big blind folded and all three hands were tabled. Hale tabled AA and was in great shape against Geyser’s AJ and Burr’s AQ. Geyser’s friend stood behind him while he stuck his hand out over his head.
“I’m giving him flop osmosis,” he said as the dealer spread a flop of KQ9.
The 10 peeled off on the turn to give Geyser the nuts and leave the other two players looking for a jack to chop the pot. The river was the 7 and Burr was eliminated in 53rd place while Geyser tripled up.
Hale dropped to 700,000 while Geyser increased his stack to 315,000. Burr headed to the payout cage to pick up her $2,720 53rd place prize money.
