NBA Player In the House
Aug 03, '12
There’s more than just the poker world represented here at the Card Player Poker Tour Choctaw main event. There’s even some NBA talent in the field.
Sitting on Barry Shulman’s direct left is none other than Eric Maynor, point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Maynor is a 25-year-old who played collegiately for the VCU Rams and was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year before being drafted by the Utah Jazz in 2009. He was traded later that year to the current Western Conference Champions Thunder, before tearing his ACL in early 2012.
During his short career, he has averaged 4.5 points per game to go along with 3.1 assists. His poker game, however, remains a mystery. Maynor has not yet recorded a live tournament cash.

Maynor Flush With Chips
Aug 04, '12
With a flop of K42, three way action was checked around. The turn brought the 6 and the player in the small blind bet 1,500. Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Eric Maynor called from the big blind and the third player called from late position.
The 7 hit the river and the small blind bet 4,500. Maynor called pretty quickly, and the third player folded. Maynor instantly rolled over the J8 for a jack-high flush and his opponent tossed his cards into the muck.
After the hand Maynor is up to roughly 52,000 in chips.

NBA Player Eric Maynor Eliminated
Aug 05, '12
He put up a valiant effort, but Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Eric Maynor finally succumbed to the mounting blinds and antes when he pushed for 40,000 holding Q 10.
Darrell Dayton made the call holding A 8 and his hand held when the board ran out A 9 5 7 7.
This was Maynor’s first tournament ever and he managed to finish in 40th place. Not bad for a rookie.
