Yi Li Doubles Through Rusty Stowe

After the floor announced players would play seven more hands for the night, Yi Li moved his short stack all in from the button on the first hand.

Rusty Stowe looked down at the A from the big blind and shook his cards, contemplating looking at the second one or just making the call.

“It’s a king,” said another player at the table in reference to Stowe’s second card. “I know it.”

Stowe called and then looked at his second card, the J. Gasps erupted from around the table when Li showed AK.

The dealer fanned K10258 and Li scored a double-up late in the night.

Rusty Stowe Doubles Up

A player in late position raised and Rusty Stowe defended his big blind. The flop was Q98 and Stowe checked. His opponent bet 12,000 and Stowe moved all in for 29,300.

After getting a count and spending a minute in the tank, the late position player called and the cards were tabled.

“Look at this flop,” said Stowe as he showed JT. “I got the nuts with the re-draw.”

Stowe had his opponent drawing to runners when his opponent showed 66. The turn was the 8 and the table let out a groan as Stowe’s opponent picked up four outs to a full house. The river, however, was the K and Stowe doubled up.

Rusty Stowe Eliminated in 26th Place ($2,700)

Brian Washington raised to 8,000 UTG+1 preflop and Sean Winter called on the cutoff. Moses Clepper also called on the small blind and then Rusty Stowe reraised all in for 26,500 on the big blind. Washington reraised all in over the top and Winter and Clepper folded. The two remaining players then revealed their cards.

Stowe was eliminated on the hand in 27th place and he will take home $2,700 in prize money. Washington was up to 263,000 after the hand.
