Nam Le Takes Pot, Chips Up Early
The player in seat 4 raised to 350 and both Nam Le and the player in the big blind made the call. When the flop came 976 Le checked, seat 4 bet 500 and Le check-raised to 1,500. The big blind folded and seat 4 called the raise. Le and seat 4 checked the 8 turn. The river was the 2 and Lee bet out 1,800. Seat 4 thought for a minute and mucked, giving Le the pot. He has chipped up to around 34,000 so far today. Le and John D'Agostino are seated at the same table.
Larry Flynt Eliminated
The player from under the gun raised to 200 and Larry Flynt called from middle position. They went heads up to a flop of Q109 and UTG bet 500 and Flynt called. The turn was the 5 and this time UTG checked to Flynt, who bet 1,000. UTG called and the K fell on the river. UTG bet 3,000 and Flynt raised to 8,000. UTG moved all in and Flynt made the call. Flynt showed QJ for the rivered king-high straight. UTG showed AJ for the rivered ace-high straight. UTG raked the pot and Flynt was left with only 2,000 in chips after the hand.
A few hands later Flynt limped into a pot from early position. The player in the cutoff raised to 600 and Flynt called. The flop came A32 and Flynt checked to the cutoff, who bet 500. Flynt called all in and both players turned over their cards. Flynt had 107 and the cutoff had JJ. The turn and river brought 35 and Flynt was eliminated.
Madsen Makes Losing Call
On a 3-way flop of K53, the big blind checked to the player in middle position who bet 475. Jeff Madsen raised to 1,200, pushing the big blind out of the pot. The middle position player called and checked the turn of 3. Madsen checked behind. The river brought the 9, the player in middle position bet out 1,600 and Madsen tanked before making the call. His opponent turned over A3 and Madsen mucked his hand, sitting with 24,000 after the hand.
Scary Turn Doesn't Phase "LilHoldem"
The player in seat 6 bet 600 on a flop of 965 and Chad "lilholdem954" Batista made the call. When the A fell on the turn seat 6 fired out 1,600. Batista called again and both players checked the 4 river. "You got it," seat 6 said and Batista turned over 98 to scoop the pot. After the hand he had around 25,000 in chips.
Griffin Dodges Spades
From the small blind, Gavin Griffin raised to 350. The big blind folded and one other player, who had limped under the gun, made the call. The flop ran out 1082, and Griffin made a continuation bet of 550. His opponent folded, and Griffin let out an audible sigh of relief, showing KK as he raked in the small pot. Griffin was down to around 13,000 after the hand.
ElkY In Action
Frenchman Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier has lost almost half his starting stack of 20,000 but sees relatively unfazed, picking up a pot on a board of Q105Q9 by betting out about three-quarters the pot.
