8. Kattamuri was dead on the turn as the dealer burned and turned the 8c to give Samples quads.
The river was a meaningless 2 and Samples chipped up to over 615,000 with just a few hands left in the day. She is the runaway chip leader for Day 1A.

Max Sturrock Doubles Through Susan Kattamuri

On a flop of Q75, Max Sturrock led out for 4,400 and was raised to 10,500 by Susan Kattamuri. Sturrock called and they watched the J fall on the turn.
Sturrock checked and Kattamuri bet 25,000. Sturrock immediately check-raised all in for 36,400 and was snap-called by Kattamuri.
“You got jacks?” she asked as she tabled AQ, good for top pair and the nut flush draw.
Sturrock didn’t respond, but tabled QJ, giving him top two pair and a worse flush draw. The river was a brick for Kattamuri and she doubled up Sturrock.
Sturrock doubled up to 105,000 while Kattamuri, the one time chip leader slipped to 65,000.
