McMillan Cracks Evans' Aces to Double
Aug 01, '14
An early positioned player opened to 3,000 and action folded around to John McMillan on the button who three-bet shipped all in for his last 20,800. It folded to Josh Evans in the big blind and he flatted the all in. The original raiser folded and the hands were turned over.
Evans: AA
McMillan: JJ
McMillan was behind Evans’ aces and in need of help heading to the community cards. The flop came down 7210, keeping Evans’ aces in front. The 5 dropped down on the turn and McMillan scooted backward in his seat, ready to make his exit from the tournament.
Just like that, his miracle J struck the felt on fifth street, giving him a set of jacks for the double. McMillan took down the pot and now has around 42,000 in chips. Evans, on the other hand, has dropped to about 51,000.
