What Just Happened? aka William Heimiller EliminatedOct 29, '08 We caught up with the craziest hand of the night on a flop of 876. Jamie Rosen and Sabyl Cohen-Landrum checked to William Heimiller, who bet 110,000. Jonathan Aguiar called on the button and Rosen check raised to 300,000. After counting out her stack, Cohen decides to shove for her last 779,000. Then, Heimiller tank shoves his last 1,300,000. Aguiar quickly folds with a look of amusement and Rosen says, "This may be terrible, but I call." Heimiller shows QQ, Rosen shows the best hand with 86 for two pair and Cohen shows.... 104 for a gutshot straight draw. Heimiller is screaming for the board to pair but the turn is the K. The players eyes dart back and forth searching for their own diamonds but only Cohen is able to celebrate when the 3 peels off the river, giving her a runner-runner flush. Heimiller is eliminated, Cohen more than triples up and Rosen wins the small-ish side pot. Cohen now has 2,600,000 while Rosen takes a monster hit down to 1,300,000. No cash games, no spectators, no satellites and the Amazon room at half capacity makes for a very different feeling on this day two. The sound of rustling chips usually evokes a feeling of being in a rainstorm, today it sounds more like crickets. Early Eliminations Director, actor, writer, these are all titles that apply to Nick Cassavetes. The title of Main Event Champion looks like it will not be added to that list. Cassavetes came into the day with a relatively healthy chip stack. With the board showing 10 8 3 and $60,000 behind him, Cassavetes found himself all in against only one opponent. Cassavetes showed J J and said to his opponent, "you got a set of eights?" His read was spot on as his opponent turned over 8 8. The turn was the 2 and the river brought the K. Cassavetes shook his opponent's hand and exited the Amazon room. Joe Hachem, member of Team Pokerstars, was also eliminated in the early hours of day two. Hachem got all his money in on a flop of A-10-10 with A-8. His opponent in the hand called him with A-Q and when the turn and river both bricked out, the queen ended up playing. Hachem was out kicked and eliminated from this year's Main Event. Bringing a little bit of humor to the room today was Ivan Saul. Playing for Pokerstars, Saul pushed all in before the flop from late position. The player in seat three asked the dealer to count out the bet and Saul immediately stood up and started putting on a show. "Seat open! Table 64!" shouted Saul, inciting laughter from Kirk Morrison who is seated at his table. Saul, clad in an Argentina hat and towel draped around his neck, looked more like a crazed World Cup fan than a poker player. "Seat open! Seat open! Table 64!" shouted Saul again. The player in seat three called and Saul showed A 4. The player in seat three showed 3 3. The board came Q J 6 5 5 and Saul was sent to the rail. Looks like Montel Williams won't be leaving his television show anytime soon, after busting out today he'll more than likely keep his day job. Williams was all in with A 4 up against his opponent in seat eight who was holding pocket sevens. The board bricked out for Williams when it came J 3 2 J 9 and he exited the Amazon room. Up and Down Day for Sebok Joe Sebok came into the day short stacked and has had a rocky day thus far. Sebok was able to double up early to almost $23,000 when he was all in with pocket kings against Pascal Perrault and his pocket eights. The board bricked out for Perrault and Sebok's kings held up. With things looking up for Sebok, he played the rush and took a stab at a point just a few hands later. Sebok made a large bet on the turn and was met with a large raise from his opponent. Sebok got away from the hand but now has only $13,000 to work with. Hamby Passed the $100K Mark Jared Hamby, one of poker's hottest new players, has just passed the $100,000 chip mark. The player in seat three at Hamby's table raised to $3,700 preflop and Hamby bumped it up to $10,700. The player in seat nine called from the small blind and the initial raiser got out of the way. The flop came J 4 3 and the player in seat nine checked. Hamby bet out $15,000 and the player in seat nine called without hesitation. The turn was the 5 and again the player in seat nine checked. Hamby pushed all in and the player in seat nine shook his head in frustration. Seat nine eventually folded and and Hamby asked him, "queens?" The player in seat nine nodded and Hamby showed the table his pocket kings. Hamby took down the pot and now has $105,000. Featured Table Sharing the felt at today's featured table are "Miami" John Cernuto, Mack Lee, Sabyl Cohen and Scotty Nguyen. Notable Chip Counts

Big Bust OutsJun 17, '07 David Williams and Jean Gaspard have both been eliminated from the $1,500 buy in event. Williams was crippled when his pocket eights ran up against A-Q, and he lost the race. He was left with onyl a few thousand after that hand, and was forced all-in only a few hands later. Gaspard was similarly short stacked and had only two moves left to him, all-in or fold. He was unable to double up, and eventually hit the rail last level. With only 45 players remaining, the action is heating up as the final table approaches. Sabyl Cohen remains strong, but David Stucke has usurped the chip lead, sitting with more than $500,000.Make sure to check back for more updates here at Cardplayer.com. Player Tags: David Williams, Sabyl Cohen-Landrum, David Stucke Hour Three RecapJun 17, '07 Williams Fighting to SurviveWhile off to a great start earlier in day two, David Williams has found himself all-in a number of times as he struggles to keep up the rising average stack. He had another player all-in with Q 10 versus A 5, and spiked a ten on the turn to double up to around $100,000. Sabyl Cohen Dominant Sabyl Cohen has increased her chip stack to well above $300,000, and holds the clear lead in this $1,500 event. Young Cho Takes A Hit Young Cho bet $15,000 preflop and was reraised by an opponent to $50,000. He called, and after a flop of 10 10 7, Cho checked. His opponent bet $25,000 and Cho went all-in. After a few agonizing moments, his opponent called with Q Q, and Cho dejectedly revealed A Q, for ace-high. The turn and river improved neither player and Cho sustained a massive hit, ending with around $60,000. Tournament Info Only fifty of the 2315 players that entered remain in the event, meaning that all those still in are gaurenteed $11,060 at this point. They're Playing Poker, Right?Jun 14, '07 As the last few seconds of Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs wound down so many of the fields players were standing up to watch the action, you wouldn't have known there was a poker tournament going on. As the clock hit zero, Phil Ivey and Erick Lindgren were involved in hand, that they ended up chopping. Ivey was obviously much more excited with the three pointer the Cavs hit at the buzzer to beat the spread exclaiming, "That's how you do it!" as the shot fell. There were similar shouts of joy or disdain all over the tournament area, and order was quickly restored. In another notable hand Scotty Ngyuen, Cyndy Violette, and Barny Boatman were involved in a three-way pot. Boatman bowed out on 6th street, but Violette called on the river. Scotty turned up an A-K to match the Q-J-10 on his board, and Broadway was enough to take down the whole pot. Sabyl Cohen gave up some of her money to Cliff "Johnny Bax" Josephy and Mike Matusow. Cohen lead the betting for the first few streets and ended up with a board of Q K 10K, Matusow was showing a 3262, and Josephy showed 4957. Matusow announced, "Two pair and six low" on the river, but Josephy showed rolled up fours for trips to take the high. Cohen showed a useless third pair and was shut out. Play is currently on break. Greg Raymer, hoping to improve on his fourth-place finish from the $2,000 Stud-Eight-or-better Event, has been active already. In a three-way pot Raymer, caught lucky and ended up with a perfect 7-low even with his board reading 4 A A J. Still it was enough to take the low end. Isabelle Mercier took her opponent all the way showing a board of 9 5 4 A, against his K A A 6. He could hardly believe it when she turned over the 327, good for the wheel, and a scoop. Mike Matusow seems to be off to a good start. He is only a table away from both Layne Flack and Mike Mizrachi, and they can’t seem to find enough things to talk about. Matusow, first announced that Daniel Negreanu wouldn’t be arriving to the More action to follow. Stay tuned to CardPlayer.com to follow the progress of Bill Chen in our Pro Blogs section.
