Early Chip Leader Tanner Martinelli Eliminated
May 05, '17
Jeffrey Klein is up to more than 70,000 in chips after busting Tanner Martinelli, who had a stack of 65,000 earlier today, good for the unofficial chip lead at the time.
A player in early position opened to 500 and three players called. The flop fell Q75, and Martinelli on the button put his short stack all in with K8 for a flush draw.
Klein was in the hand with Q7 for two pair. He made the call and everyone else folded. The turn brought the 9, which gave Martinelli a straight draw to go along with his spades. However, the 8 on the river wasn’t one of his outs and he hit the rail.

Tanner Martinelli Takes Advantage of Some Strange Play
May 05, '17
After a raise and a three-bet, four players saw a flop of 872. After a check from Henry Hull in the small blind, and Regina Hampton behind him, Tanner Martinelli bet 5,000.
Austin Buchanan thought it over for a bit and made the call from the cutoff. Hull called as well, and Hampton folded. The turn was the 5 and Hull checked.
This time, Martinelli bet 10,000. Buchanan folded, and Hull made the call. The river was the 2 and Hull checked. Martinelli moved in, and despite only having 2,475 left in his stack, Hull found a fold.
On the very next hand, Hull moved all in on the button. Hampton, who herself only had about 5,000, decided to flip a coin. Apparently, the coin told her to move all in blind to isolate, so she did.
Hull turned over KK, and it easily held against Hampton’s 32 on a board that ran out 87778.
Just a few hand later, both Hampton and Hull found themselves all in once again, this time against Martinelli.
Hampton held J5, Hull held AK, and Martinelli had A10. The flop brought a ten, and both Hampton and Hull were sent to the rail to re-enter.
Martinelli now leads the field with roughly 65,000 in chips.
