Big Hands:
Ben Zamini on Rollercoaster Ride Ending in Elimination
Ben Zamini began a 3-hand rollercoaster ride that ultimately concluded with a trip to the rail. On the first hand, Zamini got it all in with Andrew Robl on a board of TT63. Zamini turned over AT and Robl mucked his hand before the river was dealt and paid off Zamini.
On the next hand, Zamini gave all the chips he accumulated to Pat Pezzin when Pat hit two pair, kings and tens, and Zamini
mucked his cards.
The final straw came with Robl raising from under-the-gun and chip leader David Rheem 3-betting from the button. Zamini called all in, and Robl called. The J32 generated checks from both active opponents, but the 5 on the turn generated a bet from Robl and an instant raise from Rheem. Robl made the call and check-folded Rheem’s bet on the 2 river card. Rheem announced that he had a straight and flipped over the 64 and Zamini showed the KJ before mucking.
Chau Giang’s Stack Dwindles, Eliminated in 11th Place.
Facing a river bet from Justin Bonomo on a board of J9864, Chau Giang paused for several minutes before ultimately calling with the TT. Bonomo turned over the QQ and raked in the large pot. Giang was crippled, having less than 15,000 in chips after losing the pot. Two hands later, Andrew Robl raised from from the button and Giang called all in with the K9. Robl made a straight to eliminate Giang and send the remaining players to the final table bubble.
Ron Kevin Eliminated on First Hand of Final Table Bubble
After the players redrew for their seats at table 1 to play out the bubble for the televised 9-handed final table, David Williams eliminated Ron Kevin on the first hand. Williams raised pre-flop and Kevin moved all in. Williams called with 99, a slight favorite over Kevin’s AQ. Williams flopped a set of 9s, but the board also gave Kevin an inside straight draw. The turn and river failed to bring the missing jack, and Kevin was eliminated in 10th place for a payday of $23,406.
