Ryan Julius Takes Chip Lead With Cooler
Oct 25, '10
We have a new chip leader courtesy of a massive cooler. Blair Hinkle raised to 1,600 and Ryan Julius made the call. The button then raised to 4,900 and Hinkle made the call.
Julius then reraised to 16,900 and the button reraised to 37,000. Hinkle folded and Julius moved all in. His opponent snap called for his last 130,000 and revealed pocket kings.
Julius showed pocket aces and they held when both players flopped a set. Coincidentally, Hinkle claimed to have folded pocket eights, which also would have flopped a set.
Julius is now stacked with 278,000.

Michael Kelly Jumps to the Top
Oct 26, '10
A bizarre series of events has led to the fall of Ryan Julius from the chip lead and the rise of Michael Kelly. After a series of bets and raises preflop that involved Matt Stout and chip leader Ryan Julius, Michael Kelly decided to throw his hat into the ring and shove all in for 133,200. Stout folded (what he later said to be jacks) and Julius made the call. Their cards:
Julius: K K
Kelly: A J
Board: A 9 5 2 8
Kelly doubled up on the hand to climb close to 300,000 and Julius took a huge hit to his stack and fell back to around 150,000. “What just happened,” said a dazed and confused Julius after the hand. “I need a Corona.”
