Jesse Lonis Stacks Andrew Lichtenberger
Nov 17, '22
It was a very short stay in this tournament for Andrew Lichtenberger, who lasted about ten minutes after buying in before the break.
Lichtenbger got his stack in on a flop of 974 with pocket aces, only to see that he ran into a set of fours from Jesse Lonis.
The turn and river came 57, and ‘Lucky Chewy’ was sent to the rail. He’ll have another couple of shots to make it through on day 1b and 1c, however.
“I waited all day for that,” Lonis said as he dragged the pot. He now has 125,000 in chips.

Jesse Lonis Wins One Before Break

A short-stacked player moved all in for 20,000 and Jesse Lonis moved all in for slightly more behind him.
The short stack had 76 and Lonis held KJ.
The flop came AQ6, giving the all-in player the advantage, but the turn was the K vaulting Lonis into the lead.
“Spade!” the all-in player called for, even though it would not help him.
The river was indeed a spade in the 4, but Lonis hand was best and he is now back up to 53,000, saving himself a re-entry here on day 1C.
