Eric Jeffries earned $18,925 for his fifth-place finish just days ago in the $350 buy-in, $500,000 guaranteed event, and he’s back for more today in the CPPT Big Poker Oktober main event.
Jeffries, who had to drive back to San Diego at 3 a.m. after his last final-table score, is hoping to avoid that same drive until after this weekend. But that isn’t stopping him from mixing it up early on here on day 1B.

The river was the Q and Jeffries checked for a third time. His opponent finally gave up, checking behind, and Jeffries revealed 52 for bottom pair to scoop the pot. He now has 67,000 in chips.

Collopy ended up folding J10, and Jeffries showed pocket eights. Jun had pocket aces, however, and Jeffries failed to come from behind on a board reading 65492.
Jeffries earned $13,680 for his second final-table finish of the week, while Jun chipped up to 3,225,000.

Said El Harrak raised to 125,000 and was met with a three-bet shove from Eric Jeffries for his last 810,000. El Harrak made the call with pocket jacks and was a good favorite to score the knockout against Jeffries’ A8.

Harvey Alegado raised to 85,000 and was called by Eric Jeffries. Brandon Zuidema then raised to 305,000 and Alegado folded.
Jeffries quickly called, however, and the flop was 964. Zuidema bet 305,000, and Jeffries opted to raise to what looked like 610,000.
