Jing Loses The Absolute Minimum
May 25, '13
We just witnessed an incredible hand that either features an amazing read or a severe case of monsters under the bed syndrome.
Greg Brask raised preflop and Shan Jing, on his immediate left, reraised to 1,050. Brask four-bet to 3,350 and Jing made the call.
The flop came down J J 3 and both players slowed down with a check. The turn was the A and again, both players checked.
The river was the Q and Brask bet 4,500. Jing took a second before throwing in his call and revealing Q Q for the third nuts.
The rest of the table, stunned that Jing didn’t raise, was even more surprised when Brask turned over A A for the second nuts. Brask dragged the pot, albeit much smaller than it could have been and Jing salvaged his tournament life.
