At the 2008 World Series of Poker, Eric Brooks made his first big cash a memorable one. Not only was it his first money finish in a major live tournament, but he also won one of the most prestigious titles in poker. Brooks took down the $10,000 buy-in World Championship seven-card stud event for a first-place prize of nearly $416,000, which he promptly announced that he would give 100 percent of to the Decision Education Foundation.
