Born in Evanston, Illinois, William "Bill" Edler has been in the tournament poker scene for some time now. Known and respected in the poker community, Edler quickly made a rush of final table appearances and large cashes. By mid-March of 2007, Edler had already racked up four final tables, nearly $700,000 in winnings, and first place in the first-annual Heads-Up Championship.
Then, at the 38th World Series of Poker, he won his first bracelet in the $5,000 buy-in shorthanded no-limit hold’em tournament. A short time after winning his first WSOP bracelet, he snagged his first World Poker Tour title and made what some consider the best comeback in poker history. Edler was all-in blind with only two chips left in the 2007 Gulf Coast Championship, but after winning a few consecutive all-ins, he built his stack back up. He then went on to win the event. Edler has firmly placed himself among poker's elite tournament players.
