Field Narrowing Down

Right before the last break, Michele Lewis rakes a nice pot and eliminated one of her opponents. The player in seat 6 moves all-in for $325 and Lewis re-raise another $1200. The player in the cutoff position calls the $1200 along with the small blind. The flop comes KJ3, and Lewis fires out $2,000. The remaining players fold and Lewis wins the side pot. Lewis flips over AA for the main pot while her opponent shows Q8. The turn and river bring the Q and the 10, not enough help for Seat-6 as she is eliminated and Lewis also rakes the main pot. A few hands later, at the same table, J.J. Liu raises all-in from middle position. The big blind makes the call and turns over 76 while Liu shows A4. The board comes A5495 giving Liu two pair and the win. Although Liu doubles up this hand, she still remains one of the short stacks at her table.
This level brought us several more eliminations including, Shannon Elizabeth and Isabelle Mercier. Vanessa Selbst on the other hand is in contention for the chip lead while she sits patiently in front a huge stack.
While everyone usually spends their break time chain-smoking cigarettes and telling bad beat stories, one player had just found sweet justice on the river when the floor man forced her to go all-in. The lady in seat 3 moved all-in on the flop acting out of turn. An opponent in the 7 seat made the call, but the dealer stopped the action because Seat-3 acted out of turn. Seat-3 wanted to fold after she realized her opponent wanted to call, so the dealer called the floor man over. The floor ruled that Seat-3 must put all of her chips in the pot even though she acted out of turn. The flop was 1034 when Seat-3 flipped over A-K against Seat-7’s set of tens. The turn brought the 2 and the river brought the 5, giving Seat-7 the wheel for the win.
