Russ "Dutch" Boyd was born in 1980 and grew up as a child prodigy. At the age of 12, Boyd attended college and graduated with a law degree at 18. After serving as an intern, Boyd decided not to pursue the law profession. Instead, he turned to poker.
Boyd is considered one of the more controversial players in the community, but his results cannot deny his poker talent. At the 2003 World Series of Poker, Boyd finished 12th. This brought a significant amount of media attention to him as well as to his group of young poker friends known as The Crew, which included two-time bracelet winner Scott Fischman. He snagged his own WSOP bracelet in the 2006 $2,500 no-limit hold'em short-handed event.
