Christopher Okoli Eliminated On The Bubble
Jun 27, '21
After posting the 6,000 big blind ante, Christopher Okoli was all in for 3,000 in the big blind. Just as his table dealt that hand, a player was eliminated on a neighboring table, prompting the tournament staff to inform the remaining tables to finish the hand they were on and pause normal play, as they were about to start hand-for-hand play.
With Okoli all in, Jonathan Jaffe raised to 12,000 from under the gun and Dustin Holladay called from the cutoff. Sterling Savill three-bet on the button, which caused Jaffe and Holladay to fold. Savill scooped the side pot and was heads-up with Okoli for the smaller main pot.
Okoli tabled 107 and needed a lot of help against Savill’s KK. The flop was J33 and Okoli was left drawing to runners. The turn was the 2, which effectively ended the hand as Okoli was drawing dead to the Q river.
Okoli was eliminated on the bubble and there will be no hand-for-hand play. The remaining 43 players are all in the money and guaranteed at least a min-cash of $3,929.
Sterling Savill – 225,000
