Notable Hands:
David Moore Doubles
David Moore moved all in over the top of an opening raise from John Francis. Francis made a somewhat reluctant call, showing A10 and trailing Moore's AA. The board ran out A22Q7, and Moore's pocket rockets filled up to double his stack size.
Mike Carson Goes Back to Back Through Bob Yamaguchi
On a flop of AQ9, Carson moved all in for 174,000. He was called instantly by Bob Yamaguchi, who had the lead with AQ. But Carson had plenty of room to catch up, holding AJ. And catching is exactly what he did on the turn, when the 2 fell, completing his flush. The 7 fell on the river, and Yamaguchi missed his boat, sending his chips sailing across the ocean of felt to Carson's stack.
Carson finished off Yamaguchi on the very next hand. Again, Carson shoved, and was called instantly by Yamaguchi, who this time held QQ. Carson once again held diamonds, this time AK. Carson nailed the flop, which came A105, and maintained his lead as the turn and river came 104. Yamaguchi shipped the shattered remnants of his stack to Carson, who was still busy piling the chips from his previous hand.
Mike Carson had over 500,000 in chips after the hand.
