Foltyn Runs Into Aces, Out in 8th Place ($79,957)

Paul Foltyn was battling the short stack when he decided to move his last 650,000 al in. It couldn’t have felt good to see Jason DeWitt re-raise all in over the top of him. Everyone else folded and they showed their hands:

DeWitt: AA

The board came K4746 and Foltyn was gone in 8th place. DeWitt was back up to 1.9 million after the hand.

Kings Run Into Aces, Carroll Falls in 7th Place ($103,594)

In a huge pot, action was three-bet before James Carroll got his 1.225 million all in holding KK, only to be called by Jeff Williams who held the dreaded AA.

The board came 691023 and Carroll was gone in 7th place, taking home $103,594. Williams had more than 4 million after the hand.

Big Hands:
Hachem Forced to Fold

Tony Hachem was two off the big blind and elected to limp for 3000, and along with both blinds and the button it was four-way action to the flop, which came J32. Both blinds checked, Hachem bet 8000, and the button called. Both blinds folded. The turn paired the board with the J, and Hachem checked. The button stepped out for 22,000, and Hachem tanked. He reluctantly folded to the bet, announcing he had folded pocket kings. The button didn't show his hand.

Kitai Makes Move

David Kitai was in the small blind and was facing a raise to 11,000 form the button. Kitai, one of the larger stacks at the table, reraised to 28,000, and the button folded to the move. Kitai showed AK.

Petersen Puts it Away

Jesper Petersen raised to 6600 preflop and drew a call from the big blind. The flop came KQ10, Petersen bet 10,000 and his opponent quickly mucked.

Foltyn Continues Surge

Paul Foltyn is amassing a considerable stack, and put it to use after a board came down KQQ84. After the river, Foltyn was first to act and made a pot-sized bet of 70,000. Keith Hawkins and Nikolay Evdakov were both forced to fold.

Big Hands and Storylines:

Walk the Plank

The Italian Pirate, Max Pesactori, called a bet of 2,500 on a flop of 1033. Both he and his opponent checked the 5 turn card, then Pescatori led out 10,000 on the 4 river. His opponent called and angrily showed J-10 after Pescatori showed K-3 for a winning set.

"What could I do?"

Action has been fast and furious thus far on day 2 of the no-limit hold'em six handed tournament. Within minutes of its start Paul Foltyn got his remaining 20,000 in chips all in and was called by John Chou. Foltyn showed 66 and was dominated by Chou's 99. The board ran Q-J-8-Q-A and Foltyn was gone.
After the hand he defended his play, saying, "What could I do? He's over there with six million..." pointing to the ever-aggressive Dario Minieri seated at his table with a big stack.

Welcome to the Table

A few hands later, Shannon Shorr joined Minieri's table. The two tangled immediately. In Shorr's first hand, Minieri raised to 4,600 from the button and the player in seat 6 made the call, as did Shorr. The flop came QJ3, seat 6 checked and Shorr bet out 10,000. Both Minieri and seat 6 folded and Shorr was off to a good start at his new table.

Ease Off the Trigger

News flash: Dario Minieri likes to pull the trigger. After John Chou raised, Minieri reraised up to 10,000. Chou grabbed stacks of chips and reraised again 40,000 more. Minieri asked for a count of Chou's remaining chips and went into the tank- so long in fact that another player called "clock." With the final ten seconds being counted down Minieri finally pushed his cards away and mucked, deciding to pick a better spot.
He has also been chatting with Shorr about Italy's recent football (soccer) success.

Chen Let's Go

Bill Chen raised to 4,500 and both Alon Shahar, chipleader at the start of the day, and the player in seat 6 made the call. The flop came J103 and all three players checked. On the 8 turn, Shahar bet 6,700, seat 6 mucked and Chen called. When the K fell on the river Chen smiled and seemed to be chuckling to himself. Shahar bet 10,000 and Chen laid his hand down.
