Alex Kravchenko is a 36-year-old businessman originally from Archangel, in the former USSR. He has been playing poker for about eight years. He is married and has two children. Kravchenko became the first Russian citizen in history to win a World Series of Poker gold bracelet when he was victorious at the 2007 $1,500 Omaha eight-or-better event.
Then, in the $10,000 buy-in main event, Kravchenko made a run at a second bracelet when he made it to the final table. He came up short of a bracelet but more than $1.85 million richer from his fourth-place finish. Kravchenko is currently working as a businessman and poker player. He plays cash games in all variations of poker at the Shangri-la Casino in Moscow.
