Liesy Finally Puts Away Rajkumar
Vivek Rajkumar was on the button in the heads-up battle with Marco Liesy and raised to 1200. Liesy reraised to 3700 and Rajkumar moved all-in for another 3800. Liesy contemplated folding, but eventually called with his J9. He trailed Rajkumar's A10, but hit the flop that came 942. The turn was the 6 and the 8 completed the board.
Rajkumar took an earlier hit when, on a board of 109763 hit bet out 2200 on the river and drew a call from Liesy, who held A10. Rajkumar mucked.
Nasty Business
Jeffery Darling saw a flop come A53, when he held A3. His opponent bet 7000 and Darling forced the player all-in for another 6000. Darling found he trailed however, to the J10, until the 3 came on the turn to give him the full house. The 8 completed the board and Darling advanced to round 2.
Bowker Puts it Away
Kyle Bowker faced a shortstacked opponent in heads-up play when the level began. He limped from the small blind and saw a flop of queen-jack-nine. His opponent bet and Bowker pushed him all-in, then showed 10-8 for the flopped straight. His opponent held queen-10 and didn't improve.
Roseberry Moves On
Travis Roseberry limped from the small blind when his opponent pushed all-in. Roseberry called and showed ace-king, while his opponent held ace-five. The board came A-A-9-8-2 and Roseberry was the table champ.
Nguyen Gets it Done
Ut Van Nguyen called the all-in of his opponent who held king-queen. Nguyen showed the A10 and hit the flop of A-5-3 to claim the table title.
Lagarde Advances
Matthew Lagarde was the button with Q6. The flop came Q98, and after the Q hit the turn his opponent committed his final 6900 in chips. The board double-paired with the 9 on the river and Lagarde clinched a seat in round 2.
