David Tran went from not event knowing the game of poker three years ago to having pages of major tournament cashes. Perhaps it was because he was taught by the 2000 and 2007 Card Player Player of the Year, David Pham.
David's first six-digit cash came at the 2007 World Series of Poker main event. He finished 14th for almost $430,000. It didn't take him long after that to score another big one. At the 2008 World Poker Tour Borgata Winter Open, he finished second for nearly $738,000.
