The board read J1057 when we found Daniel Lowery and Cyrus Jannesari heads up in the hand. Lowery led at the pot on the turn for 3,400 and Jannesari called from the button.

The K dropped down on the river, completing the board. Lowery checked and Jannesari cut out a bet of 14,000. Lowery moved out a call and Jannesari rolled over 55 for a flopped set of fives.

“Nice hand, bud,” said Lowery as he tossed his cards into the muck.

With this hit, Lowery is down to about 9,000 in chips while Jannesari has soared to 58,500.

Lowery Sends Two to the Rail

Daniel Lowery is thriving early here on Day 1A of the CPPT Choctaw Main Event.

We arrived at the table in time to see four players looking at a board of 7A89. Action on the turn was completed and two shorter stacked players were already all in and at risk. This left Lowery and one other players heads up to see the river with a side pot.

With well over 25,000 already in the middle, the dealer burned and produced the A on the river. Lowery’s opponent checked and the Peter Pender, Arkansas native fired out a river bet of 4,000. Lowery’s opponent called and rolled over AJ for trip aces. They were no good, though, as Lowery showed JT for a straight to the jack.

One all in player showed 65 for the low end of the straight before his cards were pulled into the muck. The other all in player had the same straight with 65 and his cards were also thrown to the muck. Lowery scooped the massive pot, scored two eliminations, and now sits around 55,000 in chips.

The river was the 4 and Lowery’s opponent check-called one final bet of 1,200. Lowery’s opponent showed A7, prompting a muck from Lowery. Despite this hit, Lowery is still sitting on a solid stack of what looks to be just over 29,000 in chips.

After two late position limps and a limp on the button, Dan Lowery raised to 450 from the small blind. The hijack, cutoff, and button all called and they watched the dealer peel a flop of 842. Everybody checked and the 7 fell on the turn. Lowery led out for 1,000 and only the cutoff called.

The river was the A and Lowery checked. The cutoff began reaching for chips and eventually tossed out 1,350. Lowery immediately threw out two green, 25 denomination chips to signify a call.

The cutoff tabled 96 and lost the pot as Lowery tabled AJ to take the pot with top pair. He climbs to 35,500 and has almost completely doubled his stack in the first level of play.

Daniel Lowery got into a preflop raising war from the cutoff with the player in the small blind. Lowery called 2,675 preflop and they saw a 973 flop heads-up.

The small blind bet 4,400 and Lowery quickly called. The turn was the 8 and the small blind went all in for 11,600 and Lowery went into the tank for just a few moments.

“This sucks,” said Lowery. “I don’t have anything else to do today.”

“You can always re-buy,” said the small blind.

Lowery called and tabled KK and was in the lead against the small blind’s JJ.

“What sucked about that?” asked the small blind.

“You played it like you had two aces,” said Lowery. “You five-bet me preflop. You played it pretty strong.”

“It’s not like there were any overcards on the board,” said the small blind.

The river was the 3 and Lowery scooped the pot to grow his stack to over 40,000.

“Maybe I’m just the nittiest guy at the table and didn’t want to call,” said Lowery as the small blind headed out of the tournament area.

Jannesari Over Lowery

The board read J1057 when we found Daniel Lowery and Cyrus Jannesari heads up in the hand. Lowery led at the pot on the turn for 3,400 and Jannesari called from the button.

The K dropped down on the river, completing the board. Lowery checked and Jannesari cut out a bet of 14,000. Lowery moved out a call and Jannesari rolled over 55 for a flopped set of fives.

“Nice hand, bud,” said Lowery as he tossed his cards into the muck.

With this hit, Lowery is down to about 9,000 in chips while Jannesari has soared to 58,500.

Lowery Sends Two to the Rail

Daniel Lowery is thriving early here on Day 1A of the CPPT Choctaw Main Event.

We arrived at the table in time to see four players looking at a board of 7A89. Action on the turn was completed and two shorter stacked players were already all in and at risk. This left Lowery and one other players heads up to see the river with a side pot.

With well over 25,000 already in the middle, the dealer burned and produced the A on the river. Lowery’s opponent checked and the Peter Pender, Arkansas native fired out a river bet of 4,000. Lowery’s opponent called and rolled over AJ for trip aces. They were no good, though, as Lowery showed JT for a straight to the jack.

One all in player showed 65 for the low end of the straight before his cards were pulled into the muck. The other all in player had the same straight with 65 and his cards were also thrown to the muck. Lowery scooped the massive pot, scored two eliminations, and now sits around 55,000 in chips.

We picked up with the action on a board of A34 to find Daniel Lowery and an opponent heads up in a pot. Action checked over to Lowery and he fired out a bet of 400. His opponent called and the Q touched down on the turn. Action checked to Lowery for a second time and he fired 700. His opponent stayed the course.

The river was the 4 and Lowery’s opponent check-called one final bet of 1,200. Lowery’s opponent showed A7, prompting a muck from Lowery. Despite this hit, Lowery is still sitting on a solid stack of what looks to be just over 29,000 in chips.

Lowery's Early Run Good Continues

After two late position limps and a limp on the button, Dan Lowery raised to 450 from the small blind. The hijack, cutoff, and button all called and they watched the dealer peel a flop of 842. Everybody checked and the 7 fell on the turn. Lowery led out for 1,000 and only the cutoff called.

The river was the A and Lowery checked. The cutoff began reaching for chips and eventually tossed out 1,350. Lowery immediately threw out two green, 25 denomination chips to signify a call.

The cutoff tabled 96 and lost the pot as Lowery tabled AJ to take the pot with top pair. He climbs to 35,500 and has almost completely doubled his stack in the first level of play.

Dan Lowery Scoops an Early Pot

There was a raise to 250 from under-the-gun and Dan Lowery called from the cutoff. Both blinds called as well and four out of the five players saw a flop of 743.

Both blinds checked and the under-the-gun player bet 650. Lowery raised to 1,500 and the original raiser was the only caller. The turn was the 10 and the under-the-gun player led out for 2,500. Lowery announced a raise and tossed out a grey, 5,000 denomination chip.

The under-the-gun player folded and Lowery took the pot after mucking his hand. He stacks the chips and sits with 25,000 as the first level approaches its midway point.
