Hand #61: Jason Potter Eliminated in 4th Place ($103,030)Mar 28, '08 Hand #61 - Zach Hyman has the button in seat 1, he raises to 140,000, Potter moves all in from the small blind for 190,000, and Hyman calls with A5. Potter shows A3, and it's another likely chop situation. The board comes Q84, and Hyman picks up a spade flush draw. The turn card pairs the board with the 8, and Potter needs to avoid a five, a deuce, and all the spades to stay alive. The river card is the 7, and Hyman claps his hands once and says, "Yes!" as he makes his flush to win the hand, increasing his stack to about 1,035,000. Jason Potter is eliminated in fourth place, earning $103,030. Potter shows 33, and Devonshire shows AQ -- it's a race situation, and Devonshire needs to improve to stay alive. Devonshire says, "I'll take the king-jack-ten of clubs." The flop comes 886, and the high pair on the board gives Devonshire additional outs to a victory if the board double pairs. The turn card is the 10, and Devonshire needs an ace, queen, ten, or six to stay alive. The river card is the A. Devonshire shouts, "Ace!" as he throws his arms in the air, winning the pot with two pair, aces and eights, increasing his stack to about 918,000. Potter drops down to about 288,000.
