Day 1b of the Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville main event was a record setting day. For the third time in three seasons of the CPPT, the northern Florida card room has put on a $1,500 no-limit hold’em $300,000 guarantee main event, but the numbers this time around surpassed all expectations. Accumulating a prize pool of $526,500 and 390 entrants, the tournament is now the largest CPPT bestbet main event to date.

The winner will take home $109,733, the second largest first place prize payout of the season this far. In all, 44 players will share in a piece of the prizepool. The runner-up with leave with more than $76,000 and the minimum cashers will take home no less than $3,135.

A total of 67 players survived over the course of two starting days with 2010 World Series of Poker main event 6th place finisher John Dolan leading the pack. Throughout day 1b Dolan amassed a stack of 306,700. World Poker Tour champion Aaron Mermelstein and WSOP Circuit winner Darryll Fish trail Dolan with stacks of 258,900 and 214,500 respectively.

Local legends Moses Clepper, Eddy Mroczkowski and Mark Stephen Edwards will return on day 2, along with former final-tablists of this event Yi Li, TK Miles, Erik Christensen and Jalen Coyle.

We missed the action but caught John Dolan standing up from the table and heading back to registration as the dealer pushed his entire stack to Erik Christensen, who finished fifth in this event last year for $17,100.

Dolan’s empty seat still had his pocket kings sitting in front of him, while Christensen had pocket aces face up in front of him. With that Christensen increased his stack to over 40,000.

John Dolan Leads Final 67 Players

Day 1b of the Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville main event was a record setting day. For the third time in three seasons of the CPPT, the northern Florida card room has put on a $1,500 no-limit hold’em $300,000 guarantee main event, but the numbers this time around surpassed all expectations. Accumulating a prize pool of $526,500 and 390 entrants, the tournament is now the largest CPPT bestbet main event to date.

The winner will take home $109,733, the second largest first place prize payout of the season this far. In all, 44 players will share in a piece of the prizepool. The runner-up with leave with more than $76,000 and the minimum cashers will take home no less than $3,135.

A total of 67 players survived over the course of two starting days with 2010 World Series of Poker main event 6th place finisher John Dolan leading the pack. Throughout day 1b Dolan amassed a stack of 306,700. World Poker Tour champion Aaron Mermelstein and WSOP Circuit winner Darryll Fish trail Dolan with stacks of 258,900 and 214,500 respectively.

Local legends Moses Clepper, Eddy Mroczkowski and Mark Stephen Edwards will return on day 2, along with former final-tablists of this event Yi Li, TK Miles, Erik Christensen and Jalen Coyle.

John Dolan Knocks Out Two Players, Moves Over 300K

John Dolan raised to 3,700 from middle position and the player in the hijack moved all in for 9,600. The cutoff cold-called the 9,600 and Dolan called as well.

Both players checked a flop of 542 and the 3 fell on the turn. Dolan bet 14,000 and the cutoff moved all in for about 75,000 and Dolan called.

The hijack showed A7, the cutoff showed AJ, but Dolan had them all beat with his A6, giving him a six-high straight against his opponent’s wheels. The river was the 7 and Dolan knocked out both players while taking over the chip lead in the tournament.

We missed the action, but according to the table, a player moved all in from middle position for 12,000, Nick Yunis called from late position and John Dolan moved all in behind him. Yunis called and all three hands were tabled.

Yunis showed pocket kings and was ahead of the initial raiser’s A-Q, but Dolan had them both crushed with his pocket aces. Dolan’s aces held up, Yunis and the other player were eliminated and Dolan takes over the chip lead for the second flight of this tournament.

Dolan made the call and the flop came down A72. Both players checked and the 10 hit the felt on the turn.
