and Clements had him covered with Q 7 5 4. The board was dealt K 6 4 A 10 and Durkee doubled up through Clements. Clements was once sitting alone as king of the mountain, but this hand, as well as the rise of Dau Ly now threatens that throne.
The Return of the King
After some lucrative preflop action the board of 7 7 5 6 was checked down by Scott Clements and Eric Lynch. The river brought the Q and Clements fired out $100,000. Lych called and Clements turned over sixes full of sevens. Clements took down the rather large pot and now had above $1 million.
William Durkee Eliminated in 4th Place ($52,285)
William Durkee was all in and Scott Clements made the call. Clements flipped over A K J 9 and Durkee showed down K K 10 7. The board was dealt Q Q J A 2 and Durkee was eliminated in fourth place. He took home $52,285 in prize money.

Dau Ly moved all in after a series of pot-sized raises between himself and Scott Clements. A flop of Q 9 4 sat on the table at this point and Clements flipped over J 10 6 3. Ly showed down A Q Q 2 and he was in the lead. That was until the K was dealt on the turn to give Clements a straight. The inconsequential 6 fell on the river and Ly was eliminated in third place. He took home $78,624 in prize money. Clements now had a monolithic stack with over $1,700,000 and Eric Lynch, his heads-up opponent waiting in the wings, saw the writing on the wall. “This should be quick,” said Lynch.
Scratch Paper
The $194,206 in prize money was taken out of a cardboard box that had “Scratch Paper” written on the side.
Scott Clements Wins Event #23 ($194,206)
On the first hand of heads-up action Eric Lynch pushed all in and Clements immediately called. They turned up their cards and Lynch held Q 7 2 2 to Clements’ K 9 9 8. The board was dealt Q 4 2 8 9 and Clements won his second gold bracelet with three nines. He also took home the first-place prize of $194,206. Lynch was awarded $119,508 for his second-place efforts.

After Dinner - Hour Two at the Final Table

The Final Table Doldrums
The dinner break has done nothing to loosen up the players at the final table. The play has been slow, mechanical, and tight ever since they took their seats. A few of the guys look like they might fall asleep, and Scott Clements left his seat to sprint to the bathroom and back at one point. He didn’t miss a hand.
Mark Davis Eliminated in 6th Place ($29,877)
Mark Davis made bets of $20,000 on the flop and turn. Both times Dau Ly smooth called. That was until the river ,when Q 10 10 A 5 sat on the board. Ly then went into action and made a pot-sized bet to put Mark Davis on a tough decision. Davis made the all-in call and Ly flipped over two additional tens. Davis was eliminated by the quad tens of Ly in sixth place and he will take home $29,877 in prize money.

Richard Olofsson Eliminated in 10th Place ($7,862)
Richard Olofsson was all in and Scott Clements had him covered. Clements flipped over 8 7 4 2 on a board of A 8 6 A 5. Olofsson was eliminated in 10th place and he took home $7,862 in prize money.
Double KO
Scott Clements had both K.U. Davis and Anthony MacCanello covered all in with A-K-J-9 in his hand on a flop of Q 10 8. MacCanello is all in for the largest amount of chips with A-A-K-4. Davis has the least amount of chips pushed all in with A-J-J-10. The turn and river brought 3 Q and Clements knocked out two of his opponents. Davis was eliminated in ninth place and took home $11,794, while MacCanello was eliminated in eighth place and walked away with $16,511.
Durkee Doubles through Clements
William Durkee moved all in and Clements once again held the tournament life of an opponent in his hand. He flipped over A K 9 4 and Durkee threw down J J 6 4. The cards hit the board J 9 2 2 8 and Durkee won the money already in the pot, as well as double the $80,000 he pushed all in.
Hitting the Wall
The next 20 minutes of play passed by with little action and even less excitement. Clements now held a dominant chip lead and most of the remaining players at the table were doing their best to avoid him.
Andy Black Eliminated in 7th Place ($22,408)
Andy Black was all in and William Durkee had him covered with A A A K. Black showed down the K K 6 4 and the board was dealt 10 10 9 2 Q. Black was eliminated in seventh place and he will take home $22,408 in prize money.
Chop! Chop!
Jason Newburger moved all in and Dau Ly made the call. Ly flipped up A A K K and Newburger showed down A A 7 4. The board was dealt J 6 6 9 9 and they chopped up the pot.
Dinner Bell
Action continued for 10 more minutes then the players went to dinner break until 8:30 p.m. Clements was still the runaway chip leader at this point with $845,000.

Day Two - Hour Two

Double Trouble
Players were on a fifteen minute break for the fist part of the hour ,and when they returned action got down to the final two tables quickly. Eric Lynch, Arnold Spee, the talkative Dau Ly, and Andy Black were seated together at table 67. Scott Clements was seated with Ayaz Mahmood on table 61. Clements was still the chip leader with $340,000 and Ly trailed in second with $260,000.
Ayaz Mahmood Eliminated in 15th
A board of Q Q 8 K 5 sat on the table when Mahmood’s opponent flipped over A A 10 3. Mahmood mucked his hand, rapped the table in a good-natured salute, and headed toward the payout table in 15th place.
Arnold Spee’s Last Stand
Spee was down to his final chip stack of 20 by this point and he entered all-in mode. His first push received no call. That trend didn’t continue for long though, he was called a few hands later and put his tournament life on the line with A K 7 6. Dau Ly turned over A 8 3 2. The board was dealt A Q 5 9 2 and Spee was the unlucky 13th-place finisher.

Down to the Final Ten
Scott Clements then eliminated Gary Lungren in 12th place when he turned over Q Q 5 2 on a board of Q J J 5 3. Hilbert Shirey was busted soon after in 11th place and action was down to the final table. The players took a ten minute break, while all the chips were moved to the featured final table stage.
