Klausen Keeps GoingApr 18, '09 Laurence Houghton raises his small blind to 2,400, and Jonas Klausen, in middle position, casually flicks the required chips out, replacing his big blind call. The board falls A 8 8 and Houghton immediately fires in 3,200. Klausen passes and Houghton confidently takes down the pot. On Klausen's big blind, he checks the small blind's call. The flop brings two handsome kings and a 6 and the small blind checks. Klausen skims one chip worth 500 off the top of his stack on to the other side of the line, taking a shot at the pot, representing trips, or just getting a feel. Whatever he was doing worked, as the small blind folded and Klausen smiled as he took down a pot full of blinds. Klausen is currently sitting on a big stack of 30,100 in chips. Elsewhere, Christoffer Hansen just took down a pot worth about 5,000 with a set of jacks. He has 12,200 now. Klausen, first to act, bets 2,800 and his opponent thinks about it. He makes the call and Klausen quickly flips over pocket jacks for the set.

Stop the ClockFeb 18, '09 There are 91 players left and the clock has been stopped with 15 minutes to go. Play has completely slowed down, with just a few short stacks attempting to make moves, but many defending their chips in order to make it to tomorrow. One player's aces were cracked by kings when a king fell on the flop. The pocket aces holder wasn't out however, but with so little time left, was unlucky to get such a blow to his stack. "I was so closed to folding," said the winner. "Show me the kings and muck it - Everyone would have said 'great lay down'" replied his unlucky opponent. Jonas Klausen shoved all-in on a 1054 flop, taking a nice enough pot down as his opponent folded. Some players remaining have seen some terrible swings of luck, (although not quite as bad as Theo Jorgensen) - Isabelle Mercier's stack has been demolished compared to earlier, as has Orjan Holt - he is now on 12,800. Roberto Romanello on the other hand is up over the 60,000 mark.
Player Tags: Jonas Klausen Only 43 LeftFeb 19, '09 The bubble is just 2 players away. One recent elimination was Albert Iversen who ran A-K into Jonas Klausen's A-A. Player Tags: Jonas Klausen, Albert Iversen After the Break BusinessFeb 20, '09 Tom Johansen raises to 22,000 and Jonas Klausen calls. The flop comes KJ4 and both players check. The turn is the 2, Klausen bets 32,000 and Johansen moves all in. Klausen says, "I did not expect that!" He then taps the table and passes. Johansen reveals AJ for second pair and the nut flush draw. Klausen is on the button and raises to 19,000. Rasmus Nielsen calls and the cards fall KQ8. Both players check and the turn is the 3. It's checked down again and the river is the 4. Nielsen checks and Klausen says, "I should have bet the turn" before revealing his cards. Both play the board and it's chop chop. Soon after, Nielsen raises from the cut-off and Andreas Hoivold reraises to 52,000. The blinds fold and then Nielsen also folds. A lot of to-ing and fro-ing has been going on since the break. A big hand is sure to be building up as we speak. Player Tags: Jonas Klausen, Rasmus Nielsen Ramzi Jelassi Eliminated in 19th Place (â¬16,371)Feb 20, '09 Jonas Klausen raises 16,500 and Ramzi Jelassi reraises all in for 50,000 more. Klausen thinks about it and then says, "Let's gamble!" He turns over 109 and Jelassi flips over KQ. The flop is about to be dealt and Jelassi says, "K-Q can't lose!" Coincidentally, the flop comes down KQ9 and everyone laughs. In an amazing turn of fate, the turn is the 9. Klausen smiles and says,"Give him a queen, it's only fair." However, the river is the 10 and Jelassi who has played outstandingly well leaves the even €16,371 richer. Klausen's Chips Van-ishingJan 20, '09 Jonas Klausen hasn't been running very good late session. His latest clash involved Frenchman Julien Lang Van who went all in on a board of K97JQ. Klausen eventually folded, but he wasn't very happy about it. Always the gentleman, Lang Van showed the 10 for a straight. Player Tags: Jonas Klausen What Goes Around...Jan 20, '09 Jonas Klausen is now sitting next to Sebastian Ruthenberg to make for some dynamic tension at a table which also consists of Julien Lang Van and another player who has been causing quite a stir - Jorg Wehle. With a pot of 1,825 for the taking, the flop falls KK9. Klausen bets 1,100 and Wehle calls. The turn is the A, Klausen bets 1,700 and Wehle makes it 4,000. Then comes the biggest struggle of day 1A - one between Jonas Klausen and ... himself. He sits there almost talking to himself, wanting to call, but holding himself back. He is so frustrated that after about three or four minutes he eventually folds, but without looking. He holds one hand up to his eyes while he sickeningly flicks the cards into the middle. He sits eyeing what once were his chips but now belong to Wehle. Soon after, on a flop of J92, Klausen bets 500, Wehle calls, and the button makes it 4,000. Klausen folds and watches his nemesis make a decision. That decision takes about a millisecond - all-in. Wehle seems to be putting everybody to the test at this table, and is giving away nothing. The button tanks, and then decides to call. Wehle has him covered and flips over pocket nines for a set, while the button turns over K4 for the flush draw. The turn is a gift in the shape of the 6 and the river is the 7. Wehle is totally aggravated and sits there seething and nursing his beaten stack. Klausen on the other hand looks almost vindicated.
