Two Tables Remain
Jun 24, '07
There are only 17 players left in day two of event #38, $1,500 No Limit Hold 'Em. Play has consolidated down to two tables and the next redraw will occur when there are ten players remaining.
There have been nine eliminations in the first level following the dinner break and it is apparent that these players show no sing of slowing down. The recent eliminations are as follows:
26th Place - Mitchell Hecht ($21,993)
25th Place - Karl Mahrenholz ($21,993)
Karl Mahrenholz was eliminated by Suey Wong in the following hand. Chris Bjorin raised preflop and Mahrenholz came over the top all in. Wong reraised to $250,000 and forced Bjorin out of the hand. Mahrenholz was holding A-J and Wong showed pocket aces. The flop brought a jack for Mahrenholz but the turn and the river bricked out and Mahrenholz was eliminated in 25th place.
24th Place - Fred Lavassari ($21,993)
23rd Place - Michael Perrazzo ($21,993)
22nd Place - Rodeen Talebi ($21,993)
21st Place - Burt Boutin ($21,993)
Burt Boutin raised from the button preflop and was reraised by John Kranyak from the small blind. Boutin called the bet for all of his chips and had K-9. Kranyak was holding A-10 and the lead. The flop was great for Boutin when it came K-J-6 and Kranyak looked frustrated. The turn was a nine and the river brought the queen and completed Kranyak's straight.
20th Place - Zachary Clark ($21,993)
19th Place - Morgan Machina ($21,993)
With the board showing 7

Machina pushed all in. Ed Fernandez made the call and showed Q-7 for top pair. Machina slowly turned up J-6 for middle pair and a long way to go. The turn was a ten and the river was a four, giving no help to Machina and eliminating him in 19th place.
18th Place - Mark Arum ($25,785)
