Barton Doubles Up
Andrew Barton doubled up after he shoved all in over the top of a 1,600 open raise for about 12,000. The big blind player then elected to make the call, and the original raiser got out of the way. Barton showed QQ, a dominating favorite over his opponent's 9
9. The board provided some excitement, though, as it ran out red: 10723. The 8 on the river ensured Barton would be shipped the pot. "Now I have enough chips to play a little bit," said Barton.
Philachak Doesn't Like It, Likes It
"I don't like it," said Andy Philachak, "but I call." Philachak showed two queens against his opponent's pocket aces, but a queen on the flop sent his opponent to the rail and added to Philachak's growing stack.
