Kevin Song Eliminates Frank Rusnak, Sends Players to Final Table Bubble
Kevin Song finished off Frank Rusnak by calling his all in raise with 88. Song was a slight favorite against Rusnak’s AK, and the 109743 board held up his pair.
For the first time in the tournament, more than six players will face each other at one table. The seven remaining opponents will continue play at one table until one more is eliminated and the final table is set.
Justin Filtz Takes a Dent From Minieri with a Tiny River Bet
After limping on the button, Justin Filtz faced a raise of an additional 42,000 from chip leader Dario Minieri in the small blind. Filtz made the call, and the two saw a flop of Q109. Minieri bet 68,000 and Filtz called. Both players checked the 8 on the turn, and Minieri checked again on the 5 river. Filtz made a bet of 28,000, and Minieri mucked his hand. “You couldn’t call 28,000?” Filtz inquired, referring to his small river bet. “Sickest turn ever,” replied Minieri.
Minieri Takes One from John O’Shea
Dario Minieri raised to 36,000 from middle position, and John O’Shea called from the button. Minieri made a bet of 58,000 on a 743 flop, and O’Shea made the call. Both players checked the A on the turn, and the action repeated itself on the 6 river. “Sevens,” Minieri called out during the showdown. “Sevens are good,” was O’Shea’s reply as he mucked his cards when Minieri turned over 87.

Big Hands:
Set of Treys Brings No Cash to Todd Terry
After Dario Minieri and Stu Marshak limped into the pot, Todd Terry joined the crowd by limping from the button. The blinds called and checked, and the five players saw a flop of J32. The action checked to Terry, who bet 30,000 into the pot. Everybody folded, causing Terry to look disappointed as he said, “Nobody limped in with aces?” Terry turned over 33 for bottom set.
Set of Treys Brings Huge Amounts of Cash to John O’Shea
Meanwhile, John O’Shea on the other remaining table found a situation exactly opposite with his set of treys. On a board of K63, O’Shea and opponent Bruno Fitoussi got it all in for a total pot of over 650,000. O’Shea turned over 33 for bottom set, the favorite over Fitoussi’s K6 for top two pair. The A on the turn and 4 on the river failed to pair the board in Fitoussi’s favor. Fitoussi was left crippled by the cooler and found himself with less than 130,000 in chips when all was said and done.
Bruno Fitoussi Eliminated by Justin Filtz
On the next hand, Justin Filtz raised to 28,000 under-the-gun and the action folded to Bruno Fitoussi in the big blind. Fitoussi moved all in for his remaining 119,000, and Filtz deliberated for minutes while deciding whether or not to call. “Do you want action on this hand?” asked Filtz as he gathered the chips required for a call. Filtz did call, and Fitoussi told him he had only seen one of his cards. Filtz turned over Q10. Fitoussi showed the A and said, “I hope the other card is either a queen or a ten.” To his relief, Fitoussi’s other card was the Q, dominating Flitz’s hand. Unfortunately for Fitoussi, the 1084 flop paired Flitz, and Fitoussi failed to catch up.
Dario Wins Massive Pot by Doubling Through Alon Shahar
After Alon Shahar and Dario Minieri got all the money in the pot pre-flop, Shahar turned over AK against Minieri’s 9s9h. The A94 gave Minieri a set, but Minieri waited to celebrate until the 5 fell on the turn and Shahar was drawing dead. Minieri finished the hand with over 700,000 in chips and is now the tournament leader.

Big Hands and Storylines:
Bruno to the Forefront
"You have a pair?" Bruno Fitoussi asked Alex Michaels who moved all in for around 75,000. Fitoussi joked, "You have trip bananas?" pointing to the bananna Michaels had sitting in front of him. After a minute of talking it over with himself, he asked Michaels if he wanted a call or a fold. Michaels answered that he just wanted him to decide because he was having a heart attack waiting.
Fitoussi eventually called and showed JJ. Michaels flipped over AK. The flop came 442 and Michaels said, "I lose." But the turn made it interesting, bringing the 8 and creating more outs. "Spade," Michaels demanded while pointing his banana at the board. But the river instead brought the 5 and Fitoussi took a huge pot, eliminated Michaels, and took over the chip lead with 270,000.
"You Know I Don't Play Bad"
Scotty Nguyen has been raising and chipping up at his table. After one raise, Nguyen said, "You know I don't play bad." The big blind mucked showing K-5 and Ngyuen told him, "I can beat that," then flashed A-5. Nguyen is just shy of 200,000 in chips.
Pescatori Takes a Hit
Max Pescatori bet 10,000 on a 1063J board and was called by the player in seat 2. The river was the 2 and Pescatori checked. Seat 2 bet 15,000 and Pescatori thought for a while before making the call. Seat 2 showed QJ and Pescatori tossed his cards into the muck.
Minieri and Shorr Collide
On a board of K-Q-7, Shannon Shorr bet and was raised by Dario Minieri. Shorr mucked and Minieri showed 5-5, saying, "I actually thought I had the best hand." While talking, Minieri learned that he and Shorr are the same age and began to joke about how age has changed his play. They were moved to separate tables soon after.
"Make it 30"
Bill Chen raised to 6,000 and was called by Alon Shahar. The flop came 964 and Shahar led out 10,000. After a moment, Chen's response was, "Make it 30." Shahar mucked his hand and Chen took the pot.

Walk the Plank
The Italian Pirate, Max Pesactori, called a bet of 2,500 on a flop of 1033. Both he and his opponent checked the 5 turn card, then Pescatori led out 10,000 on the 4 river. His opponent called and angrily showed J-10 after Pescatori showed K-3 for a winning set.
"What could I do?"
Action has been fast and furious thus far on day 2 of the no-limit hold'em six handed tournament. Within minutes of its start Paul Foltyn got his remaining 20,000 in chips all in and was called by John Chou. Foltyn showed 66 and was dominated by Chou's 99. The board ran Q-J-8-Q-A and Foltyn was gone.
After the hand he defended his play, saying, "What could I do? He's over there with six million..." pointing to the ever-aggressive Dario Minieri seated at his table with a big stack.
Welcome to the Table
A few hands later, Shannon Shorr joined Minieri's table. The two tangled immediately. In Shorr's first hand, Minieri raised to 4,600 from the button and the player in seat 6 made the call, as did Shorr. The flop came QJ3, seat 6 checked and Shorr bet out 10,000. Both Minieri and seat 6 folded and Shorr was off to a good start at his new table.
Ease Off the Trigger
News flash: Dario Minieri likes to pull the trigger. After John Chou raised, Minieri reraised up to 10,000. Chou grabbed stacks of chips and reraised again 40,000 more. Minieri asked for a count of Chou's remaining chips and went into the tank- so long in fact that another player called "clock." With the final ten seconds being counted down Minieri finally pushed his cards away and mucked, deciding to pick a better spot.
He has also been chatting with Shorr about Italy's recent football (soccer) success.
Chen Let's Go
Bill Chen raised to 4,500 and both Alon Shahar, chipleader at the start of the day, and the player in seat 6 made the call. The flop came J103 and all three players checked. On the 8 turn, Shahar bet 6,700, seat 6 mucked and Chen called. When the K fell on the river Chen smiled and seemed to be chuckling to himself. Shahar bet 10,000 and Chen laid his hand down.
