Benjamin Pollak Eliminated in 27th Place

Benjamin Pollak bet on the button to 250,000. The small blind folded, and Maxx Coleman shoved from big blind for about 3.8 million. Pollack made the call for his last 29 big blinds. Pollack tabled pocket nines, while Coleman had the A 4.

The board ran out J 2 3 J 5 and Pollack was gone after his opponent made a straight on the river in dramatic fashion.

He cashed for $285,408.

Jorn Walthaus Eliminated in 26th Place

Jorn Walthaus open shoved for 1.66 million on the button. Steve Gee moved all in for 2.98 million from the small blind. Anton Morgenstern folded the big.

Walthaus tabled A-9, while Gee exposed A-K.

Gee’s opponent was drawing dead on the turn, as the board ran out K-4-2-4-10.

Walthaus also took home $285,408.

Walthaus made the call and the river was dealt 4. The cutoff checked and Walthaus bet 4,500. His opponent mucked and Walthaus took down the pot uncontested.

Fall of the Walthaus

Jorn Walthaus has played pretty steadily and strongly throughout the day, but the last few hands he has been involved in have shown that anything can happen in poker.

He opens for 1,150 and the big blind makes it 3,100. Walthaus pushes all in and the big blind snap-calls with pocket queens. Walthaus is behind with jacks, and the board bricks out.

Next, Jan Hlobil pushes all in for 7,700 and Walthaus gets involved once more. He calls from the button with A-Q, and then the big blind goes all in also for 21,500. Walthaus calls and the big blind shows pocket kings. Hlobil has K9 and is way behind.

The board falls: Q9822 and Hlobil is out. Walthaus is left on tilt with 10,000 and only minutes left in the tournament.

Walthoos Waltzes Over Opponents

Jorn Walthaus, who finished sixth in the EPT Deauville, raised 600 preflop. William Thorsson and Benjamin Kang called. Seat 1 raises it to 2,300 and Walthaus thinks for a few moments. He then reraises it to 4,600 and everyone folds. He has quite a nice stack with about 31,200.

Clemencon gets a Jorn-ing

Tristan Clemencon bets 108,000 and Jorn Walthaus goes all-in over the top for 321,000 more.

Clemencon considers it, and it looks as if Walthaus is up to something - whether it is a bluff or a monster he is holding, Clemencon can't tell and he folds.

Walthaus smiles with beads of sweat sitting on his upper lip, and the reason why is the 106 he was holding. He flips his cards over, much to the amusement of his table and its spectators.
