Middle position made the call and the flop fell A 7 4. The two players checked and the turn fell 2. Hachem bet 2,725 and middle position made the call. The river fell 2 and Hachem bet 25,000. Middle position made the all-in call but he mucked and left the tournament field when Hachem revealed 7 7 for the full house. Hachem held 50,000 after the hand. Matt Matros Grabs Some Chips There was 1,150 in the pot and a board of 7 4 3 K sat on the table when middle position bet 1,100. Matt Matros raised to 2,900 and he picked up an uncontested pot when his opponent mucked. Matros held 26,000. The flop fell 6 3 2 and Keller bet 700. The button made the call and the turn fell 4. Both players checked and the river fell 7. Keller checked and the button bet 1,000. Keller mucked and he found out that was a good decision when his opponent revealed the 5 as he collected the pot. Andrew Brongo – $100,198 Shawn Keller Eliminated in 4th Place ($74,171) Shawn Keller was knocked down to just over one big blind after running into Andrew Brongo’s trip kings earlier, shipping nearly of all of his chips to Brongo in that hand. The next hand he moved all in before the flop for his last 30,000 and Brandon Demes called. Demes was in the lead with K 3 against Keller’s J 8. The board came A Q 3 3 7, giving Demes trip threes on the turn. Shawn Keller was eliminated in 4th place ($74,171). Andrew Brongo Eliminated in 3rd Place ($100,198) Andrew Brongo button-raised and Brandon Demes called from the small blind. The flop came A 7 2, Demes bet and Brongo called. The turn was the A, Demes bet, Brongo raised, Demes three-bet, Brongo four-bet and Demes called. The river was the 10, Demes checked Brongo bet, Demes check-raised, Brongo three-bet, Demes four-bet, Brongo moved all in and Demes called. Brongo showed A 7 for a full house but Demes turned over A 10 for a higher full house. Peter Jetten – 685,000 Notable Eliminations: Shawn Keller Big Hands: Boeken Rivered By Thuritz, Then Doubles Through Stein Four players saw a flop of 1087 and Noah Boeken bet 30,000 from the button. Mikael Thuritz raised to 118,000 and was all in. Nam Le and Allen Kessler each got out of the way but Boeken made the call. Boeken showed 88 while Thuritz held 108. The turn was the 3, harmless to Boeken. But the river was the 10, giving Thuritz his miracle full house and the double up to 290,000. Boeken was hammered down to 90,000. A few hands later, Boeken was down to his last 60,000 and put it in preflop against Sam Stein. Boeken held AQ while Stein held 33. The board ran out K10685 and Boeken doubled to 128,000. Shawn Keller Sent Upriver Picking up the action after a flop of 86, Shawn Keller and Alexander Kuzmin got into it hard, eventually resulting in Keller having all of his chips in the middle. Keller was sitting pretty with QQ while Kuzmin held AK. The turn was the 7, offering no help to Kuzmin. But the K on the river gave Kuzmin the pot and sent Keller to the rail. Kuzmin was at 340,000. Naujoks Doubles Up Clement Thumy raised to 13,000 from the hijack and Naujoks repotted to 36,000. Thumy put in another raise and Naujoks moved all in. Thumy called with AK. Naujoks held QQ and the board ran out 874QK and Naujoks doubled up with her set of queens. She was at 375,000 while Thumy was at 640,000. The flop came down K65 and both players checked. The turn was the 7 and seat 7 checked. Naujoks bet 7,000 and seat 7 relased his hand. Naujoks took the pot and was at 112,000. Griffin Muscles Out Keller Ashton Griffin raised to 4,900 from the cutoff and Shawn Keller made the call from the big blind. The flop came down 843 and Griffin bet 7,000 and Keller tanked. After a few moments to think, he raised to 21,000. Griffin then moved all in for 31,900 more. Keller thought a few more moments and mucked his hand, dropping his stack to 160,000. Griffin was up to 105,000 after the hand. Matusow Drops One Picking up the action after the turn, the board read Q992. Mike Matusow bet 8,000 and the player in seat 9 made the call. The player in seat 2 was also in the hand but folded to the bet. The river was the K and Matusow thought for a while. Eventually, he checked and seat 9 checked behind. Matusow just tapped the table lightly and seat 9 showed 77 for the winner. Matusow dropped the pot and was at 73,000. Shawn Keller made the call and turned over 22. Baker tabled A6 and the race was on. The flop came down AK9, giving Baker the lead. The turn was the A, giving Baker trips and the Q on the river secured the double up for Baker. He was up to 27,000. Nam Le Takes A Pot Nam Le raised to 4,500 from early position and action folded around to Mikael Thuritz in the big blind. After a few moments of thought, Thuritz made the call and the flop came down 953. Thuritz checked and Le counted out some chips. He then bet 7,000 and Thuritz quickly released his hand. Le took the pot and was at 20,000. Lunkin Muscles Out Marchese Picking up the action on the turn, Vitaly Lunkin was involved in a hand with Thomas Marchese. Lunkin checked to Marchese with the board showing Q742. Marchese fired 18,800 and before the chips hit the middle, Lunkin announced he was all in. Marchese looked disgusted and mucked his hand, surrendering the pot to Lunkin. Lunkin was at 61,000 while Marchese still held his chip lead at 330,000. Pot-Limit Hold'em - Only Two More Levels To GoMay 30, '08 Note: The players are now on a 15-minute break Average Stack: 62,000 Eliminations: Alan “The Usher” Sass Big Hands: On a board of KJ5Q9, Eli Elezra checked to Vivek “psyduck” Rajkumar. Rajkumar thought for a minute before inquiring, “Is a set any good?” and betting 8,000 into the pot of about 12,000. Elezra thought only momentarily before calling and turning over JT. Vivek, true to his word, showed QQ for a set of queens and mucked. Elezra was boosted to 90,000. Rajkumar's setback proved to be only temporary, as he fought back to regain a big stack (180,000). Grundy wins blind vs. blind battle With a board of QK5J5, Ben Grundy reluctantly called a bet of 15,000. As soon as his chips hit the felt the small blind mucked his hand. Grundy scooped up the pot and increased his chip stack to roughly 135,000. Ryan Young fails to entice bet From the big blind Ryan Young check-called a bet of 5,700 on a flop of 633 After the 9 came on the turn, Young checked and then called a 15,000 bet. The river was the 4 and Young again bet. This time is opponent checked and Young sheepishly flipped over pocket 3s. Sprengers springs a trap Ben Sprengers of Florida made a major leap forward in a span of three hands. Playing from late position, Sprengers raised to 4,000 and was called by the button. On a dangerous flop of AK9 Sprengers fired out a bet of $17,000. He was called, which resulted in Sprengers checking the turn when the 8 struck. The button also checked. The river brought the 10, and Sprengers fired out a bet of 32,000. The button called. Sprengers rolled over the T8 for running two pair, while the button revealed the KQ. Benyamine cashes in David Benyamine increased his stack to 128,000 when his pocket aces crippled an opponent with pocket kings. The double-paired board of J85J8 didn’t scare either player. Newhouse rakes a pot John Juanda raised to 3,800 from middle position. A player in late position called and Mark “Newhizzle” Newhouse came along from the big blind. On a flop of K93, Newhouse checked to Juanda, who bet 7,200, the late position player folded and Newhouse called. After a 5 came on the turn, Newhouse check-called a 14,600 bet. Both players checked the river and Newhouse took down the pot with KQ. Haxton gets the better of Saul On a board of KQ274, Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul checked to Isaac “Ike” Haxton who bet the remainder of his stack – 17,000 – into a pot of 30,000. Saul thought for a few moments before calling, only to muck quickly after Haxton flipped KT for top pair. The hand strengthened Haxton to 65,000 and dropped Saul to 84,000.
