Quentin Crossley Eliminated in Controversial HandAug 01, '14 Jackson White checked on the turn with the board reading Q983 and Quentin Crossley bet 21,000. White check-raised to 50,000, which was enough to put Crossley all in and then the cards were tabled before the dealer heard anything audible from Crossley. Crossley tabled K2 and White showed A10. The dealer asked if Crossley had called and he claimed he never called and that he was mucking his hand face up. Most of the table claimed that they heard Crossley say “call” and he claimed that he didn’t and that he said “all.” Multiple floors were brought over to hear the arguments from the players involved. When the lead supervisor came over and asked the table if they heard anything, six of the seven other players at the table raised their hand and it was ruled that Crossley was going to be forced to call off the rest of his stack. Crossley continued to argue that he never called, but to no avail. He called off the rest of his stack drawing dead and White scooped a pot worth just over 120,000 while Crossley headed for the doors. The dealer produced the Q on the river and Crosley flung 3,000 past the betting line. Carter thought for a moment before flat calling. “Just an ace,” said Crosley as he rolled over A5. Carter had that beat, however, with 98 for trip eights. He raked in the chips and now has about 305,000 to Crosley’s 195,000. The flop read 889. The hands were turned over to reveal that Crossley was in the lead with trip eights. Crossley: 85 The 9 rolled off on the turn, giving Crossley a full house of eights full of nines. The Jfinished the board and Crossley scored the double knockout. He scooped the chips and now sits around 185,000. Player Tags: Quentin Crossley Crossley Doubles Through JannesariAug 01, '14 Four players including Quentin Crossley and Cyrus Jannesari took a flop of AJ4. Crossley was first to act from the big blind and checked his action. The next two players checked over to Jannesari on the button who fired out 7,500. Crossley wasted little time announcing a check-raise all in for 23,225 total, prompting folds from the other two players. Jannesari called and the hands were turned on their backs. Crossley: AJ “No heart!” said Crossley as he stood from the table. The deck obliged to his request, as the turn and river brought the 2 and the T respectively, keeping Crossley’s flopped two pair in the lead. He scored the double and now has about 52,000. Jannesari, on the other hand, has dropped to around 25,500. Quentin Crossley cold-called from the cutoff and Vedes tanked for quite some time before moving all in for his last 68,200. “You sure took a long time before you moved all in,” said Morris as he was in the tank. Morris eventually folded his hand and then Crossley asked for an exact count and found out that it would be his tournament life on the line. Crossley pushed a stack forward and turned up his hand. Crossley showed KQ and was up against Vedes’ JJ. The flop gave Crossley some extra outs with a board of 842. The turn was the J and Vedes was the favorite again. The river was the A and Crossley was eliminated while Vedes chipped up to 125,000. “I folded ace-king,” said Morris after the hand. The flop was 886 and Crossley moved all in for about 25,000, which sent Pelton into the tank. “Will you show me if I fold?” asked Pelton. Crossley didn’t respond and merely shrugged his shoulders. Pelton then asked the dealer how many grey, 5,000 denomination chips were in his stack and he was informed that there were none and they were all purple, 500 denomination chips. Pelton called and the hands were tabled. Pelton was ahead with his A10 and needed to fade a few cards against Crossley’s K2. “Yahtzee baby,” yelled Crossley as the dealer peeled the 3 on the turn, leaving Pelton drawing dead. “Ship the sherbert to the fat kid.” “I thought those were all big chips,” said Pelton. “I would have called faster.” Crossley doubled up to 60,000, while Pelton dropped to 30,000.
