John Phan opened for a raise to 27,000 before Matt Stout moved all-in for 169,000 in chips. The decision was back on Phan, who was looking at committing more than half his stack. But he took his time, read his opponent, read the situation, and made the tough call, showing 7

. But the only help came Phan's way, who flopped a set when K97 appeared. The 4 on the turn and 2 on the river completed the hand.
Singer Adds to Chip Stack
David Singer raised from the button to 30,000 and had Dustin Pattinson in the small blind raised all-in for 132,000. Singer quickly called and showed QQ, far ahead of Pattinson's 22. Like Phan, Singer flopped a set to end the drama as the board ran out Q10876.
In an earlier hand against Pattinson, Singer raised to 23,000 preflop and Pattinson reraised to 53,000. SInger then utilized the big stack, pushing all-in for over 200,000. Pattinson evenutally made the fold.
Singer was later able to win a showdown with Thuyen Doan, who had made it 23,000 to go from the button. SInger called and the flop came A104. Singer check-called another 30,000 bet, and when the A paired the board on the turn, both players checked. The J came on the river and Singer led out for 85,000. Doan mucked her hand.
Sets Keep Coming
Tony Dunst raised to 26,000 and Stewart Newman made the call from the small blind. The flop came 752 and after Newman checked Dunst bet 36,000. Newman then check-raised to 150,000 and Dunst folded. Newman showed him 77 for top set.
Bolotin Doubles Up
Alex Bolotin is a shortstack and bet all-in for 43,000. Singer called and showed KQ while Bolotin held 99. The board ran out J10776 and Bolotin remained alive.
Vengrin Ends Peraino's Run
Matt Vengrin raised to 22,000 preflop and Stewart Newman called immediately behind him. Vincent Peraino, shortstacked in the big blind, raised all-in for his final 39,000. Vengrin called and Newman folded. Vengrin showed 1010 while Peraino held 64. The flop came K96 to give Peraino slim life, but the K on the turn and 10 on the river ended his day.

Pattison Makes Connectors Work
Dustin Pattinson was in the small blind and limped when Doug Miranda in the big blind raised all-in for 46,000. Pattinson called and showed 87. He was up against Miranda's QJ. The flop came A76 to hit Pattinson, and the 10 only added to his outs. The 8 on the river meant Miranda was finished in 22nd place.
Sevens Work for Segovia
Sebastian Segovia was in the big blind and had already seen Lee Childs raise to 20,000 and Vincent Peraino call from the cutoff. Segovia also elected to make the call and the flop came 533. Segovia took the initiative and bet 35,000 which was enough to take the pot down.
Peraino Calls and Folds Again
David SInger raised to 20,000 and Peraino called. The flop came Q63 and SInger led out for 43,000. Peraino mucked his hand.
Phan Offers Second Chance
John Phan was in the big blind and Alex Zaslavsky was under the gun when he raised to 20,000. Phan called and the flop came 1085. Phan then check-called a 34,000 bet from Zaslavsky, and when the 4 came on the turn both players checked. The river paired the board with the 10 and Phan bet 24,000. Zavlasky released his hand, but Phan quickly swept the cards back to his opponent. "I'll give you a second chance," he offered. The dealer took the stunned Zaslavsky off the hook by declaring the hand dead.
No Lucky Sevens for Pinchot
Dale Pinchot raised all-in from early position for 71,000, and Stewart Newman reraised all-in behind him to create a heads-up battle. Pinchot tabled 77 while Newman held AA. The board ran out QJ38K and Pinchot was done.
