Tomas De Hoog Eliminated in 12th Place (â¬31,000)
Jan 23, '09
Tomas De Hoog raises to 42,000 under the gun. Andrea Benelli reraises to 102,000 pushing everyone else out of the way.
De Hoog shoves for 400,000 in total and Benelli insta-calls revealing pocket rockets: A-A
Hoog amazingly turns over 10-10 and the short stacks' (sitting nearby) eyes light up as they watch one of the major chip holders get in to a spot of trouble with not long to go before the final table emerges.
The board brings nothing for either player: K7554. Benelli just about has De Hoog covered and so is now sitting on around 980,000 chips.

Andrea Benelli Doubles Up
Jan 22, '09
Andrea Benelli is all-in for his tournament life. He pushes his total stack of 78,000 into the middle.
Devilfish ponders it for a few minutes. He counts out his chips and while his phone rings, he starts to sing along to it. "I'm not going to answer it. I'm not touching it," he says out of fear of the 'no using the phone at the table' rule.
Eventually he decides to call. Benelli flips over pocket nines while Devifish shows AJ.
The flop brings a set for Benelli with Q97, the turn is the K, giving Ulliott straight possibilities, but the river is the J.
Ulliott takes quite the hit to his stack but seems slightly unphased, as like he said during the hand when counting how many chips he would be left with, "I've got soooo many chips!"
Benelli, who final tabled at the Polish Open doubles up to 156,000, Ulliott drops to around 130,000.

Jacks are Better
Jan 24, '09
Arnaud Esquevin bets out holding pocket jacks on a flop of Q-J-2, and Andrea Benelli in danger with Q8 shoves all-in. Esquevin calls and they flip over their cards. The turn is a 4, and the river, a 7. Esquevin takes a chunk of change off Benelli as chips seem to go back and forth between Esquevin, Benelli, and Clemenson.

Another River Surprise
Jan 23, '09
Andrea Benelli raises 58,000, and Bruno Launais pushes all-in for 272,000.
After a little thought, Benelli calls, and the two players flip over their cards.
Launais: A3
Benelli: A8
The board falls AK310K
Launais' two pair was good until the river, which brought a better two pair for both players, and it's chop-chop!
