Theo Gotta GoFeb 18, '09 Theo Jorgensen met an untimely end when his set of sixes ran up against Andrea Benelli's full house - jacks full of sixes. It was quite apt that the Italian took the Dane out, landing the fatal blow, after crippling him earlier. Jorgensen had made it back to 23,000 and really played a blinder today, but lady luck would not have it, and he is now out of the Scandinavian Open.
Player Tags: Theo Jorgensen, Andrea Benelli "So Sick"Feb 18, '09 The sound of "That's so sick" drew attention to one of the tables. On a flop of 753 Theo Jorgensen bet 9,000 and Andrea Benelli shoved all-in. Jorgensen who was heavily stacked insta-called as fast as he possibly could and the two flipped over their cards. Jorgensen: K-K Benelli: 8-8 The turn is the A and the river the 4. The only thing was one of Benelli's eights had a club attached... hence "so sick". The pot was worth just about 63,000 and all Jorgensen's hard work was diminished in a moment. Benelli looks set to be among chip leaders, if not the chip leader. Jorgensen is still pale, and straight on his cell phone for some kind of consolation it appears.
Player Tags: Theo Jorgensen, Andrea Benelli Andrea Benelli EliminatedFeb 19, '09 Rasmus Nielsen was at it again. And this time even aces couldn't stop him. Andrea Benelli held AA all-in against Rasmus Nielsen's QJ. The board came down Q98 giving Nielsen top pair plus an inside straight draw, but the turn was the 10 and the river the 4. Nielsen had his straight and Benelli had his dreams deflated.

Jan Meinberg Eliminated in Ninth Place (â¬46,400)Jan 23, '09 Jan Meinberg moves all-in with AK and Andrew Benelli calls with pocket threes. The board falls in slow motion as we await our final eight: Q7469 Meinberg is the last elimination of the day as Benelli reserves his seat at the final table.
Player Tags: Andrea Benelli Tomas De Hoog Eliminated in 12th Place (â¬31,000)Jan 23, '09 Tomas De Hoog raises to 42,000 under the gun. Andrea Benelli reraises to 102,000 pushing everyone else out of the way. De Hoog shoves for 400,000 in total and Benelli insta-calls revealing pocket rockets: A-A Hoog amazingly turns over 10-10 and the short stacks' (sitting nearby) eyes light up as they watch one of the major chip holders get in to a spot of trouble with not long to go before the final table emerges. The board brings nothing for either player: K7554. Benelli just about has De Hoog covered and so is now sitting on around 980,000 chips.
Player Tags: Andrea Benelli Andrea Benelli Doubles UpJan 22, '09 Andrea Benelli is all-in for his tournament life. He pushes his total stack of 78,000 into the middle. Devilfish ponders it for a few minutes. He counts out his chips and while his phone rings, he starts to sing along to it. "I'm not going to answer it. I'm not touching it," he says out of fear of the 'no using the phone at the table' rule. Eventually he decides to call. Benelli flips over pocket nines while Devifish shows AJ. The flop brings a set for Benelli with Q97, the turn is the K, giving Ulliott straight possibilities, but the river is the J. Ulliott takes quite the hit to his stack but seems slightly unphased, as like he said during the hand when counting how many chips he would be left with, "I've got soooo many chips!" Benelli, who final tabled at the Polish Open doubles up to 156,000, Ulliott drops to around 130,000. Player Tags: Andrea Benelli Jacks are BetterJan 24, '09 Arnaud Esquevin bets out holding pocket jacks on a flop of Q-J-2, and Andrea Benelli in danger with Q8 shoves all-in. Esquevin calls and they flip over their cards. The turn is a 4, and the river, a 7. Esquevin takes a chunk of change off Benelli as chips seem to go back and forth between Esquevin, Benelli, and Clemenson.
Player Tags: Arnaud Esquevin, Andrea Benelli Benelli Beefs UpJan 23, '09 Andrea Benelli raises the blinds to 76,000, Jonathan Azoulay calls, as does Arnaud Esquevin from the big blind. The flop is A77 and the three players check. The turn is the K. Azoulay checks, Esquevin bets 130,000, and Benelli calls. Azoulay folds. The river falls the 4 and both players check. Benelli shows A5 and takes down the pot. Player Tags: Jonathan Azoulay, Andrea Benelli Another River SurpriseJan 23, '09 Andrea Benelli raises 58,000, and Bruno Launais pushes all-in for 272,000. After a little thought, Benelli calls, and the two players flip over their cards. Launais: A3 Benelli: A8 The board falls AK310K Launais' two pair was good until the river, which brought a better two pair for both players, and it's chop-chop!
