Grant Hinkle is a full-time businessman who lives in Kansas City, Missouri, and plays poker for fun, mostly in home games. Hinkle decided that he wanted to play one tournament at the 2008 World Series of Poker, the first $1,500 buy-in no-limit hold'em event. He faced a field of 3,929 and outlasted them all, winning the bracelet and more than $831,000 in his first major tournament cash.
Grant is the brother of poker pro Blair Hinkle, and at the 2008 World Series of Poker, the duo became the first siblings in the history of the Series to win a bracelet in the same year.
