Steven Loube Wins Event no. 47 ($267,345)Jun 28, '12 Roch Cousineau Eliminated in 3rd Place ($103,538) Roch Cousineau was previously crippled after Steven Loube doubled through him by scooping a 3.2 million pot with two pair. Cousineau missed all of his draws and bricked the low hand, leaving himself with just 60,000 in chips. On his final hand, Cousineau moved all in for 60,000 on the button and Steven Loube called from the small blind. Loube: J1096 Board: K99AJ Cousineau was ahead before the flop with a pair of queens, but Loube flopped trips and rivered a full house to win the pot and eliminate Roch Cousineau in 3rd place ($103,538). Steven Loube took the chip lead going into heads-up play with 3,230,000 to Timothy Finne’s 1,170,000. Finne bet all in for his last 28,000 on fourth street and Vinh called. Vinh: Q39Q — AKQ Vinh was ahead with high cards on fourth street when the money went in and paired his queen on sixth street to win the pot and eliminate Timothy Finne in 3rd place ($73,847). Monnette first broke the million mark in a pot with Huu Vinh after forcing a fold on sixth street when Monnette double-paired his board. Monnette took another pot from Vinh by forcing a fold on fifth street when he paired his board, putting Vinh on the short stack with just about 4.5 big bets that hand. As Huu Vinh and Timothy Finne battled for a distant second place as the level came to an end, John Monnette would take more than seventy-five percent of the total chips in play with him into the blind increase. Monnette played very aggressive this level and forced his opponents off of many hands without a showdown, laving them both on the short stack as they each only took about 4.5 big bets with them into the next level. Monnette Leads Final Three at Dinner Break John Monnette jumped up to second in chips after eliminating Perry Friedman in 4th place ($53,470), and then went on to steal the lead from Huu Vinh after getting paid off with a straight on a hand that went to a showdown. That hand put Monnette out in front with just under 900,000 and knocked Vinh down to about 650,000. Vinh then lost another showdown to Timothy Finne after getting a bet in on every street. Vinh fired at the river and Finne called called with a pair of tens to win the pot. That hand put Finne up to just under 800,00 while Vinh was left on the short stack with just about 500,000 (12 BBs). Fine checked ten-high on fourth street, Kenney bet 12,000, Finne raised to 24,000, Kenney three-bet to 36,000, Finne reraised to 48,000 and Kenney called all in. John Monnette Has an Active Level, Challeneges Vinh for the Lead John Monnette was extremely active this level and took an early pot off of Huu Vinh after rivering two pair to get paid off in a showdown. That hand gave Monnette the chip lead with just under 700,000, but he lost some of that back to Timothy Finne who found some much needed chips and Huu Vinh who went on to end the level with the chip lead. Monnette got involved in a big pot with Jeffrey Lisandro towards the end of the level that saw a bet on every street and Monnette turn over trip jacks to make a run for the lead once again with just over 600,000.
