Philachack late registered for Day 1A and quickly found himself on the right side of lady luck. The Dallas area chiropractor made a deep run in the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em Turbo event this past summer, finishing second to Doug Polk for $155,756.

Jimmy Tran Flushes Lynn Samples

Lynn Samples bet out on the turn with the board reading 9846 and was raised to 6,100 by Jimmy Tran. Samples called and the river was the 7. Both players checked and Samples tabled J9, good for a pair of nines, but Tran took the pot with a rivered flush as he tabled Q10.

“Well, I guess I was right,” said Samples about her call on the turn.

Samples slid to 83,000 while Tran climbed to 39,000.

Small One for Samples

Lynn Samples opened to 1,000 from early position and action trickled around to the player on the button. She tossed out a call and the blinds folded, leaving the duo heads up to a 59A flop.

Samples continued out for 1,300 and her opponent stayed the course. The 3 dropped down on the turn and Samples fired once again, this time to the tune of 1,500. Her opponent dropped her cards in the muck and Samples dragged yet another pot. She’s currently sitting on approximately 86,000 in chips.

Lynn Samples Shoots to the Top of the Chip Counts

Lynn Samples has quietly climbed to the top of the chip counts and is one of the biggest stacks in the room. She is currently sitting with 76,000 and just recounted to us that she had aces and was able to six-bet all in with pocket aces to win a big pot.

She won a preliminary event for $14,000 and has over $213,000 in live tournament earnings.

Will Beverly Lange be the Last Woman Standing?

We have quite a few women left in the main event field, including day 1a chipleader Lynn Samples, so we aren’t quite ready yet to keep a close eye on the last woman standing race. But there is one woman in the field who has come extremely close to that distinction on a much larger stage. Beverly Lange was the second-to-last woman standing at the 2012 World Series of Poker main event to Australia’s Jackie Glazier.

Lange is here on day 1b and we will keep an eye out throughout the night to see if she joins Samples on day 2.

Lynn Samples eliminated In 18th ($9,195)

With a flop of 985 Daniel Collins bet 50,000 and Lynn Samples, after some thought, moved all-in. Collins made the call with the A9 and Samples was in trouble with her J9.

The 2 on the turn and 4 on the river changed nothing and Samples, who entered the day as the chip leader, has been eliminated in 18th place, taking hime $9,195 for her deep run.

Aditya Agarwal Doubles Up

On a flop of AQ9 Aditya "Intervention" Agarwal is all in against Lynn Samples. Agarwal has AQ for top two pair, but must fade the outs held by Samples and her AK.
