Rene Angelil was born on Jan. 6, 1942, in Montreal, Canada. He is married to multi-platinum recording artist Celine Dion, whose career he has managed since 1981.
Despite his official amateur status, Angelil is still known in the poker world as a respected player. Angelil has numerous cashes on his poker resume and has won the Bellagio $1,000 Friday/Saturday no-limit hold'em tournament multiple times.
A former member of the singing group The Baronets, he has no plans to return to a singing career. Dion and Angelil currently reside in Las Vegas with their children, where Dion regularly performed at Caesars Palace.
