Koren made the call with the A8 and was behind against Middleton’s AQ.
Koren caught up in a hurry when the flop came down 886 to give him trips. The J on the turn and the 10 on the river sealed the deal, sending Middleton to the rail in 24th place with $19,227 for his strong showing in this event.

Tom Middleton Doubles Through Christian Glissmann
Jul 21, '16
Christian Glissmann raised to 10,000 from middle position and Chance Kornuth reraised to 27,500 from the cutoff. Tom Middleton was in the big blind and four-bet to 105,000 total. Glissmann moved all in, Kornuth folded, and action was back on Middleton, who had 33,500 behind.
Middleton thought for around two minutes, then Kornuth called the clock. The floorperson questioned whether or not Middleton had enough time to think and Kornuth countered that this was a situation in which he should be calling pretty much 100 percent of the time.
“Okay, I call,” Middleton chimed in. He turned over QQ and trailed Glissmann, who held AA.
The flop fell Q94, propelling Middleton into the lead with a set of queens. The turn brought the K and the river the J and Middleton took the pot to double up.
After the hand, Middleton apologized for taking a while to make his decision, but Kornuth didn’t mind.
“It’s fine. It is in your best interest to stall and it is in my best interest to call the clock. I didn’t think anybody was out of line,” Kornuth explained.
Tom Middleton – 339,000
Christian Glissmann – 182,000
