Tim Vance Vanquished
Apr 12, '08
Five minutes into the break and PokerStars.com EPT Copenhagen winner, American Tim Vance is huffing and puffing and furiously chewing gum. "Are you crazy. ike a madman. Or are you just hitting cards," he says to his Italian opponent as people crowd around the table to witness the hand. The rest of the room is virtually empty.
What appears to have happend is that Vance, who was first to act, bet roughly the pot, 5,000, on a board of 93510. His Italian nemesis raised to 12,200 and this is what Vance is agaonising over. His tournament life is all but on the line.
He feels he has the best hand but the flushed board is clearly making him nervous. "I'm sure i have the best hand. If i fold will you show me?" The Italian says, "if you want," with a little shrug of his shoulders.
Vance folds and the Italian turns over 104. "Nice bet sir. I had the best hand," bemoaned Vance as he stood up, scratching his forehead.

Tensions High
Apr 13, '08
Tensions have been high on the floor already. Victor Ramdin, who had the lowest stack in the field at the start of play at 1,950, managed to get up to about 6,000. Then, after raising a few pots in a row, he got played back at and reraised. He thought for about four minutes and asked the dealer to spread out the relatively few chips from his opponents bet before finally mucking preflop.
Meanwhile, Tim Vance, winner of the EPT Copenhagen, was yelling and pacing the room. Whether from a bad move on his part or a bad beat from an opponent is uncertain, but the room was certainly turning to look as he yelled to himself looking at the floor while he paces away from the table.
