Dermot Blain has more than $1.3 million in live tournament earnings, but will not be able to add to that total in this event. Blain got the last of his chips in preflop with the A10 against Oliver Boyce’s AK.
The board ran out 86389 and Blain was sent to the rail just under three tables away from the money.
The player under the gun raised to 3,200 and Dermot Blain three-bet to 8,400. Nick Newport then four-bet to 17,900 from the small blind and it folded around to Blain, who moved all-in for 65,100. Newport made the call with the AK only to find he was in big trouble against the KK of Blain.
The board ran out 744QJ and just like that Blain doubled up and Newport took a huge hit.
