Eric Blair Sees A Nasty RiverDec 09, '17 Barry Shulman opened to 2,200 from middle position and was met with a three-bet to 6,800 from the cutoff. The button then shoved for 14,900 and Eric Blair moved all-in over the top for 37,100 from the small blind. Shulman and the cutoff folded, and the button revealed pocket tens. Blair showed pocket kings and was looking good to win a big pot, but the board rolled out A52510, to see him left with just about 22,000. Player Tags: Eric Blair |

Eric Blair Finishes 37th ($12,477)Jul 20, '17 Eric Blair was left with one big blind after losing a massive pot to Dimitar Danchev. On the very next hand after losing nearly his whole stack he called all-in with the J6 and was live against Danny Noam’s A2. The board ran out A443K and Blair was eliminated in 37th place, earning $12,477. Player Tags: Eric Blair Eric Blair KOs Craig Mason (55th Place -- $11,197)Jul 20, '17 We caught up with the action on a board reading 954, with the likes of Craig Mason and Eric Blair in the mix. Mason was facing a 25,000-chip bet from another player and decided to make it 100,000. Blair was next to act and shoved for 255,000 total. The player who led out on the flop folded, and it was back on Mason. He tanked despite only having about 130,000 left. He eventually called all in for his tournament life with the AA, but he didn’t look happy about it. He was right to be worried about Blair’s holdings, as the poker pro tabled the 44 for a set. The board ran out Q 6, giving Blair about 500,000 chips and sending Mason to the showers. Player Tags: Eric Blair, Craig Mason |

Matt Stouts Heads Back to California, Matt Berkey Still LeadingMar 15, '15 The field has been narrowed down to just 36 players in the post-dinner break levels. Matt Stout, who actually had chips in tournaments in two states simultaneously, hit the rail. Stout has a stack of 51,000 at the World Series of Poker Circuit $1,675 main event at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, and he used the multiple starting days to his advantage to take a shot at the Wynn today. Having been eliminated in Nevada, Stout is now on his way back to his chips in California.
Ben Palmer and Kenna James were also eliminated after the dinner break. A few hands: Eric Blair Folds His Hand Eric Blair raised to 1,200 from the button and the players in the big blind and under the gun called. The three saw a flop of A53 and action checked to Blair. Blair bet 1,700, the big blind folded and the player under the gun called to see the Q on the turn. Both players checked again and saw the A on the river. The player under the gun bet 5,500 and Blair mucked his cards. Samantha Cohen Bested With the board reading 8798 Samantha Cohen was facing a bet of 10,000 from an opponent. Cohen took a few moments to contemplate her next move before calling. The river was the Q and Cohen checked. Her opponent thought over his options for a little bit of time before throwing out two 5,000 chips. Cohen snap-called and her opponent showed 109. Cohen did not show her cards and her opponent took the pot. Rene Angelil Eliminated by Matt Berkey Matt Berkey has amassed a monster stack of 193,000, a small portion of it coming from Rene Angelil. We missed most of the action but Angelil was all-in on a J95 board with J10 and Berkey called with KQ. The board completed 97 and Angelil was eliminated. Player Tags: Kenna James, Matt Berkey, Matt Stout, Eric Blair, Samantha Cohen Field Filling UpMar 15, '15 As the clock ticks forward on this first of two starting days, the field is becoming more stacked by the minute. Dan Sindelar, a member of the most recent batch of November-Niners, has made an appearance. Sindelar finished seventh in the WSOP main event and while that is impressive enough, the poker pro has also done very well here at the Wynn in years past. Sindelar won the $550 no-limit hold’em $250,000 guarantee during CPPT Wynn Season I in 2013, outlasting a field of 793 players and banking an even $60,000. The following year, Sindelar took third in the same event for $38,728. Randy Ohel and Eric Baldwin, both WSOP bracelet winners, have joined the growing field. Leo Wolpert, fresh off his win in the $650 no-limit hold’em $150,000 guarantee, has also taken his seat. Wolpert banked nearly $40,000 yesterday after defeating a field of 332 players. Kenna James joined Dutch Boyd’s table and took to Twitter to reminisce about the past.
Eric Blair, who finished sixth during Season II of the CPPT at the Palm Beach Kennel Club main event for $12,894 is in the field. Matt Stout, Corey Burbick and Larry Wright have taken their seats as well.
Player Tags: Larry Wright, Kenna James, Daniel Sindelar, Leo Wolpert, Eric Baldwin, Randy Ohel, Eric Blair Notable EliminationsMar 17, '15 Joseph Cheong, Brent Hanks and Eric Blair have all been eliminated from this event. We did not catch Cheong and Hanks’ bustout hands but can tell you that Blair got the last of his stack in with AJ only to get a call from an opponent holding the AK. Both players paired their ace but Blair failed to hit his kicker and instead was sent to the rail. Player Tags: Eric Blair Jon Lactaoen Stacks UpMar 17, '15 Jon Lactaoen has had a pretty good series here at the Wynn. He won the $300 no-limit hold’em for more than $10,000 and came in second in the $600 no-limit hold’em $250,000 guarantee for more than $46,000. In a recent hand Lactaoen raised to 5,500 from under the gun+1 and Eric Blair called from the small blind. The big blind followed and the three players saw a flop of 854. All three players checked and saw the K on the turn. Blair checked again, but the big blind fired out 8,500. Lactaoen called but Blair opted out. The river was the J and the big blind checked. Lactaoen bet 23,000 and the big blind called. Lactaoen showed pocket Kings for a set. “What are the odds?” The big blind asked as he turned over one King. “I had three of those,” Blair said, pointing to the Jack on the river. “Really?” A surprised Lactaoen said. “Yep,” Blair answered. Lactaoen is up to 140,000, having started the day with 87,200. In total, Lactaoen has won $57,357 on the Card Player Poker Tour, making him one of the best performing players early in Season III. Darryll Fish Tangles With Eric BlairDec 13, '13 On a flop of A94, action checked over to Darryll Fish on the button, who bet 1,600 and was called by Eric Blair. The turn was the 9 and Blair check-called 3,200 from Fish. The river was the 6 and Blair checked one more time. Fish fired out 7,000 and Blair didn’t take much time before tossing his hand into the muck. The very next hand, Blair raised to 500 from early position and was three-bet to 1,500 by Fish from the cutoff. Blair called and the two players checked to the river as the board ran out A9496. Blair led out for 2,600 on the river and Fish folded. Blair is currently sitting with 32,300 in chips and Fish has 37,800. Player Tags: Darryll Fish, Eric Blair Blair Picks Up a Pot EarlyDec 13, '13 Juliet Yarinah raised to 200 under-the-gun and gets called by Eric Blair in late position. The flop was J22 and Yarinah bet 325 and Blair called. The turn was the 8 and Yarinah slowed down and checked. Blair bet 600 and Yarinah check-called. The river was the 9 and Yarinah checked again. Blair bet 1,000 and Yarinah thought for a few moments before tossing in a call. Yarinah mucked her hand after Blair tabled QJ and Blair climbs to 27,500 in chips while Yarinah slips to 13,950. Player Tags: Eric Blair Eric Blair Busts Mike Albert In Classic Race SituationDec 14, '13 Eric Blair and Mike Albert got all-in preflop in the quintessential race situation: ace-king for Blair versus the pocket queens of Albert. Blair flopped top two pair on a A-K-10 board and Albert was unable to hit a jack or queen on the turn or river to come from behind. With that Albert hit the rail and Blair increased his stack to over 270,000. Player Tags: Eric Blair Eric Blair Climbs Above 200k MarkDec 14, '13 WIth a flop of A K 4 the money got all-in with Eric Blair holding the J 10 against the A 4 of his opponent. Blair’s massive draw hit right away when the 7 spiked the turn, leaving his opponent needing an ace or four on the river to stay alive in the event. The 9 hit the board, however, securing the pot for Blair, who built his stack to roughly 210,000. Player Tags: Eric Blair Eric Blair Knocks Out Two PlayersDec 14, '13 Eric Blair opened from early position to 1,800 and Ed Keller went all in for 24,300. A player in the blinds elected to shove all in for less than what Keller had. Blair asked for a count and thought about it briefly before making the call with the Q Q. He was up against the A 3 of Keller and the K J of the third player. The flop fell J 10 7, giving the player with K-J a pair. Blair had to dodge a number of outs to record the double knockout. The 2 on the turn didn’t change anything. On the river was the 9, and Blair held to take the large pot. The California native had more than 100,000 after the hand. Player Tags: Eric Blair It's Deja Vu All Over AgainDec 14, '13 A few players in the field today are taking their second shot at a CPPT title after busting out before the end of the day on Day 1A. Local grinder Georgia Felger, current Player of the Series points leader Jerry Willis, and Maurice Hawkins have all taken their seats on Day 1B and are firing their second $1,100 bullet at the event. 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event winner Harrison Gimbel is and fellow poker professional Eric Blair are even seated together for the second straight day. Player Tags: Maurice Hawkins, Eric Blair, Harrison Gimbel Final Table Set For Card Player Poker Tour Palm Beach Kennel Club Main EventDec 15, '13 A title and $68,191 is on the line for the final nine players in the Card Player Poker Tour Palm Beach Kennel Club $1,100 no-limit hold’em $250,000 guarantee main event. Evan Teitelbaum will lead the pack with a stack of 1,200,000 trailed closely by Sean Winter with 1,093,000 and Luke Brereton with 1,039,000. Online pro Eric Blair, who has $1.6 million in online tournament winnings, and WSOP bracelet winner and online high stakes cash games player Brian Hastings are also in the mix along with young pro Ian O’Hare. John McNulty, Gerard Donaghy and Tom Gleason make up the rest of the final table. No matter who wins, a first-time CPPT champion will be named. Donaghy, who will come to the final table with 827,000, was a unique entry in the field having won his ticket from Palm Beach Kennel Club’s monthly Player of the Month promotion in November. Donaghy finished in the top 100 players on the leaderboard and was then entered into a $25,000 freeroll tournament where he won his seat to the CPPT main event, meaning he is truly on a freeroll. Day 2 moved quickly with 23 of the 59 remaining players taking to the rail in the first two levels of play. The money was reached during Level 18 when David S. was eliminated in a brutal hand on the stone bubble. S. opened to 12,000 from under the gun and Scott Zakheim raised to 26,000 from middle position. S. re-raised to 76,000 and Zakheim quickly called to see a flop of K88. S. immediately announced he was all-in and Zakheim called even faster. The hands were not immediately tabled as the floor was waiting to see if any other tables had an all-in and a call but the board was still dealt out 54. When the floor gave the ok S. turned over two black Aces and thought he had won the pot. “No good,” Zakheim said, but S. appeared to have not heard. He began stacking his chips for the dealer to count, thinking Zakheim would match them up and push them his way. “Your aces are no good man,” another player at the table said. Zakheim showed two red Kings for a flopped full-house and S. realized his mistake and made his exit. Zakheim was later eliminated as the 22nd place finisher for $2,515. In addition to Zakheim, Day 2 saw the elimination of two of the biggest names in the field in rapid succession. Chino Rheem, who came into Day 2 second in chips with just under 400,000, and Chance Kornuth both amassed stacks of nearly 800,000 during level 19 and held the top two spots for nearly an hour. But in unexpected fashion, Kornuth and Rheem both hit the rail before the end of Level 20 at the hands of Even Teitelbaum. Teitelbaum raised under the gun, Ian O’Hara called from late position, Rheem followed from the cutoff and Kornuth did the same out of the big blind. The flop opened Ad8s6s and Kornuth checked, Teitelbaum raised to 32,000, O’Hara called, Rheem released and Kornuth raised to 94,000. O’Hara folded and Teitelbaum made it 232,000 to go. Kornuth announced he was all-in for about 400,000 and Teitelbaum called. Kornuth had flopped bottom set with 66 against Teitelbaum’s top two pair with A8. Kornuth stayed ahead after the J opened on the turn but saw his day come to an end when the A on the river gave Tietelbaum the full house. Kornuth made his exit as the 23rd place finisher for $2,515. Rheem quickly followed when he raised to 13,000 and Teitelbaum called from the small blind to see a flop of 985. Teitelbaum led out for 12,000 and Rheem called to see the 9 on the turn. Teitelbaum fired out 27,000 and Rheem called again to see the A on the river. Teitelbaum once again fired out 27,000 and Rheem shoved all in for around 250,000 more. Teitelbaum tanked for a while before making the call with 22. Rheem tabled 74 and hit the rail as the 19th place finisher for $2,932 while Teitelbaum built his stack to about 2 million. S. opened to 12,000 from under the gun and Scott Zakheim raised to 26,000 from middle position. S. re-raised to 76,000 and Zakheim quickly called to see a flop of K88. S. immediately announced he was all-in and Zakheim called even faster.
