Clare Miller Wins

Clare Miller of Alamogordo, NM, is the winner of the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Seniors tournament after taking an enormous chip lead around 12:30 a.m.  She takes home $247,814 for first place and Mike Nargi, of Maumille, AR, takes second and $129,293.  Shortly after winning, Clare Miller begins to cry, overcome with the emotion of winning the bracelet and the tournament.  She poses for pictures with her husband, with whom she's celebrating 41 years of marriage with this week.  Check Cardplayer.com for interviews with the winner and runner-up.

Miller Busts Wells in 3rd ($74,882)

Jake Wells moves all-in from the small blind.  Clare Miller thinks for a while before calling from the big blind.  Wells shows Adiamond3club.  Miller has Jdiamond8spade.  The board comes Qclub10diamond4clubJclub3heart and Miller avoids a lot of Wells' outs on the river to take down the pot.  Miller is now at $1,416,000.

Nargi Doubles

Jake Wells doubles the blinds to $2,400 from the button and Mike Nargi calls.  The board comes Kspade3spade2spade.  Nargi checks, Wells bets $40,000, and Nargi goes all-in.  After some consideration, Wells calls.  The turn is the Qclub and the river is the 9club.  Nargi's Kdiamond3diamond beats Wells' flush and straight draw with the Aheart5spade.  Wells is at $110,000 and Nargi is at $360,000.

Wells Doubles

Jake Wells doubles up when his QheartJspade hits the flop and beats Mike Nargi's pocket Sixes.  Wells is at $320,000 and Nargi is at $190,000.

Play Resumes

Play has begun with the final 3 players ready to get back at it.  Level 18 begins with $2,000 antes and blinds of $6,000-12,000.

Nargi Doubles Off Wells

Mike Nargi doubles off Jake Wells on the final hand before a short 15-minute break.  A few hands earlier, Nargi lost a lot of chips to Clare Miller and was down to $175,000. Nargi went all-in pre-flop from the button with 8spade8diamond.  Jake Wells calls and shows 5club5spade.  The board misses both players and Nargi doubles up to $350,000.  Wells is at $160,000.

Play will resume in 15 minutes.

Judith Carlson Out in 4th

Clare Miller doesn't eliminate Judith Carlson - this time, Jake Wells steps up and calls Carlson's all-in pre-flop push.  Carlson shows QclubJdiamond and Wells shows Adiamond7club.  Wells spikes an Ace on the river to seal the deal after the board misses Carlson and she is out in  4th place, taking home $53,872.  "$53,000 for doing nothing?" Carlson said, speaking of how she played the shortstack most of the night.  "I'm in shock - I never had any chips.  I just waited for everyone else to knock themselves out."  A bystander suggested she buy into next year's $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event.

She's Playing Like Him, Anyways

Clare Miller put an unlit cigarette in her mouth and proclaimed herself "Samantha Farha."
