Only a few minutes into play after the break, and it’s all over.
Erik Cajelais moved all in and Matt Glantz called. Their cards were:
Cajelais: Q J
Glantz: A 2
Board: Q 9 5 A 4
At first it looked like Cajelais was going to double up through Glantz when he paired his queen, but the ace on the turn sealed his fate, and unless he takes down the main event next, he will have to be happy to take home just a WSOPE bracelet from London, and not to forget a hefty chunk of runner-up High Roller money ($521,201).
Glantz gets the best part of it however with $866,537 (£542,000) for taking over from Jason Mercier as the PokerStars _EPT High Roller champion.
Roles have been reversed within the first few minutes of play as Matt Glantz has taken the chip lead.
With blinds of 30,000-60,000 they both got it all in on a flop of A A 3. Glantz had the flush draw with J 8 and Cajelais had trips with A 7. The turn was a brick but the river was a club for the flush and Glantz now has 2,540,000.
After a bit of a raising war the two players were all in. Their cards were:
Erik Cajelais: A Q
Matt Glantz: A 8
Board: 10 2 2 K Q
Cajelais moves into the lead with more than double Glantz’ stack. Cajelais has 2,645,000 and Glantz has 1,129,000.
The players will now go on an hour dinner break.
The last two remaining players have just started heads up play and their chip counts are:
Matt Glantz: 2,760,000
Erik Cajelais: 1,011,000
Matt Glantz bets 120,000 from the button and Eugene Katchalov moves all in for 575,000 from the big blind. It’s 455,000 more for Glantz to call, and he does.
Katchalov: A 3
Glantz: Q J
Board: A A 10 K 9
Katchalov sprinted ahead on the flop but everything changed on the turn when Glantz made his straight. Katchalov goes out in third place for $308,566, and we are now heads up.
There is twenty minutes left of the level and then there will be a dinner break. We now remove the ante.
Eugene Katchalov moves all in with Q-6 and gets a caller from Erik Cajelais who is holding K-2. The board brings a simple six and with that Katchalov doubles to 508,000.
Matt Glantz and Eugene Katchalov are all in with 8 8 versus A K respectively. The board falls 7 3 2 3 J and Glantz doubles to mega chip leader with 2,215,000.
Katchalov is crippled and left with 259,000 in chips.

Eugene Kachalov bets out and Erik Cajelais moves all in quickly for 671,000.
Kachalov looks like he is in pain as he considers calling. It’s 551,000 more for him to think about. He decides to go for it and flips over K J while Cajelais shows A 2.
The flop brings two diamonds but nothing else of interest appears and Cajelais takes down the pot with ace-high. He now has 1,385,000 while Kachalov has 1,170,000.
Matt Glantz moves all in for 657,000 and Eugene Katchalov goes into the tank. He comes out the other side and calls flipping over A 5. Katchalov shows K 9.
The board falls 9 2 2 K 8 and Glantz doubles, evening things out a bit between the three players.
Glantz: 1,320,000
Katchelov: 1,270,000
Cajelais: 1,166,000
Erik Cajelais is all in with Q 9 versus Adolfo Vaeza and his A 6. The board comes 10 9 9 10 Q.
