J.C. Tran Wins the $3,000 NLHE Event ($272,320)

Going into heads-up play with over a 2 to 1 chip lead, Card Player Player of the Year front runner J.C. Tran has won the $3,000 NLHE event at the Bellagio Five Star Classic.  Jonathan Little finishes in second place and earns $146,760.

J.C. Tran wins the bracelet, $272,320 and an entry into the WPT Championship.
 

Scotty Nguyen Eliminated 3rd ($73,380)

Scotty Nguyen raises to $45,000 from the button and Jonathan Little calls from the big blind.  The flop comes 1095 and Little moves all in.  Nguyen makes the call and shows KQ for a gut shot straight draw.  However, Little turns over 109 for two pair.  The turn is the 4 and the river comes the 5.  Little wins the pot and eliminates Nguyen in third place.
 

Final Table Blinds Raised

Blinds are now $10,000-$20,000 with a $4,000 ante.
 

Brian Wolfe Eliminated 4th ($40,015)

JC Tran raised to $40,000 under the gun and Brian Wolfe re-raised all in with A3.  Tran called and showed QQ.  The board came KQ8K2 eliminating Wolfe in 4th place for $40,015.
 

Norman Contreras Eliminated 5th ($30,020)

Norman Contreras limped from the cutoff and JC Tran checked in the big blind.  JC checked in the dark and the flop came 675.  Contreras went all in with 65 and Tran called with 66.  The turn came 3 and the river A failing to improve Contreras sending him home in 5th place with $30,020.
 

Jimmy Diep Eliminated 6th ($23,350)

Jimmy Diep moves all in from the small blind for his last few chip with A2 and is called by J.C. Tran in the big blind with J10.  The board comes 97693 and Tran makes a flush to win the pot and eliminate Diep from the tournament.
 

Marco Johnson Eliminated 7th ($16,675)

JC Tran raised to $40,000 from the cutoff and Marco Johnson went all in for his last $100,000.  Scotty Nguyen flat called.  JC Tran told Nguyen he was sure he had kings.  Nguyen proved him wrong by flipping over AA while Johnson tabled AT.  The board came J9668 sending Marco Johnson home in 7th place with $16,675.
 

Jimmy Diep Doubles Up

Jimmy Diep moves all in from the cutoff for his last $34,000.  Marco Johnson calls the additional $18,000 and shows 82.  Diep turns over A7 and the board comes K779J.  Diep wins the pot to double up.
 

Norman Contreras Doubles Up

JC Tran raised to $45,000 under the gun and Norman Contreras re-raised all in for his last $75,000 with JJ.  Tran called with 76and the flop came 976 giving Tran bottom two pair.  The Fontana Lounge again erupted in laughter as Tran outdrew his opponent.  But the turn brought the T and the river the 8 sending Contreras the pot with a Jack high straight.
 

Blind Increase

The blinds have been increased to $8,000-$16,000 with a $3,000 ante.
