Phil Hellmuth Wins 11th Bracelet!

Andy Philachack moved all in and Phil Hellmuth made the call. Philachack turned over A 10 and Hellmuth turned over A 3. Fate was thick in the air as the board hit the table 9 4 3 Q J. Hellmuth won his record eleventh gold bracelet by winning the $1,500 no-limit hold'em event. He took home $637,254 in prize money, but more importantly he made history by topping Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan for the all-time lead in number of World Series of Poker bracelets. Philahack was eliminated in second place and he took home $394,594 in prize money.

David and Goliath

Consecutive Command

Phil Hellmuth jumped out to an even larger lead when he won the first two hands of the heads-up match. Hellmuth bet $200,000 preflop on the third hand and Andy Philachack made the call. The flop brought J 8 2. Philachack bet $200,000 and Hellmuth raised to $700,000. Philachack folded and the third hand in a row went to Hellmuth. A board of Q 8 7 6 sat on the table when Hellmuth bet $250,000, Philachack called and the river brought the K. Philachack led out for $300,000 and Hellmuth quickly called. Hellmuth turned over 7 4. Philachack flipped over A 9 and Hellmuth took down the fourth pot in a row.

Philachack picked up a few pots and the chip counts were then as follows:

Overbet Central

Philachack began to over bet at pots preflop and it was clear he wanted to avoid postflop play with Hellmuth. It wasn’t working too well though, and Hellmuth took out another chunk from his stack to climb above $7 million.

Hour Four Log

Rockets Again

Andy Philachack played his once in a blue moon hand and he once again flipped over pocket aces after no one called his $690,000 all-in bet. He held $860,000 after the hand.

The player then went to dinner break and returned 45 minutes later.

The chip counts were as follows when they returned:

Philachack Grabs a Cool Million

Rick fuller bet $300,000 with 7 5 4 A on the board. Philachack and Hellmuth both call and the river brought the 10. Philachack moved all in and both players folded their hands. Philachack picked up the $1 million pot and he is now a factor in three handed action.

A Lot of Dead Money in the Pot

The blinds were then kicked up to $60,000-$120,000 with a $15,000 ante.

Rick Fuller Eliminated in 3rd Place ($247,518)

On a flop of K 9 7 Phil Hellmuth bet $250,000 and Rick Fuller raised all in. Hellmuth insta-called and turned over K 10. Fuller flipped over 8 7 and the turn and river cards were dealt J K. Fuller was eliminated in third place and he took home $247,518 in prize money.

Morgan Machina Eliminated in 4th Place ($161,425)

Morgan Machine moved all in and every player called. The board was dealt A 8 3 J and Rick Fuller bet $200,000. Andy Philachack raised all in to isolate Machina and Phil Hellmuth folded. Fuller also folded and Machina turned over Q 6. Philachack turned over A 7 and the river brought the 2. Hellmuth immediatley told the table that he had folded pocket twos. Machina was eliminated in fourth place and he took home $161,425 in prize money.

The Final Four players have returned from dinner break and the cards are in the air.

The players have left the tournament area for a 45 minute dinner break.
 

Scott Clements Eliminated in 5th Place ($112,997)

Scott Clements moved all in for $790,000 and Phil Hellmuth went into the tank. He eventually made the call and flipped over A 10.  Clements showed down A 5 and the board was dealt Q 10 9 8 5. Clements was eliminated in fifth place and he took home $112,997 in prize money.

Staying Alive

Andy Philachack then moved all in two times over the next couple of hands and everyone folded. He picked up the blinds and antes to survive.

$1 Million Showdown

Scott Clements and Phil Hellmuth pumped a pot to $1 million before the flop was dealt 10 2 2. Hellmuth then fired out $300,000 and Clements mucked his cards. Hellmuth then flipped over pocket fours as he collected the chips.

Clements Time

Spurred on by the previous pot, Clements made a great move of his own. He picked up a robust preflop pot when moved all in with K J. This induced Morgan Machina to fold pocket tens and Andy Philachack folded A 5 after some deliberation.

Another Clash of the Titans

Clements and Hellmuth got involved in another hand a few minutes later. On a board of A K 6 10 8 Clements made a value bet with the A Q in the hole. Hellmuth called and mucked his hand after he discovered the value of Clements' cards.

Collision Course

Rick Fuller made a preflop raise and Hellmuth repopped him. Fuller folded, with his hand caught in the cookie jar. Hellmuth flipped over pocket kings and said, “I’m not fooling around today boys.”

Hellmuth Scores Again

On a board of 4 4 5 9 7 Hellmuth bet $250,000. Clements made the call and flipped over pocket eights. Hellmuth revealed that he had made a value bet on the river when he turned over pocket tens. He took another pot off of Clements.

Phil Gets his Phil

Philachack moved all in with pocket aces and Hellmuth raised to $1 million. Fuller and Clements folded and the two players flipped over their cards. The board made things interesting when it was dealt K 8 3 7 9. Philachack doubled up through Hellmuth on the hand.

 

David Simon Eliminated in 6th Place ($82,506)

David Simon moved all in preflop and Rick Fuller made the call. Simon turned over pocket tens and Fuller showed down A Q. The board hit the table A K J 3 2. Simon was eliminated in sixth place and took home $82,506 in prize money.
